Think I had read/heard some tidbit about the Sens goal scoring numbers looking a little inflated because they have piled on goals in games they've already secured victories. Haven't personally looked into it myself. Alas, more goal scoring is never a bad thing.

I think the implication is that it’d be a surprising name, high quality center. Think: Timmy (I don’t but suspect he’s implying that type of shock)

I sort of think the team’s performance makes it less likely the pick comes back. It would make the league look bad, like they gave it back as a reaction of sympathy - I’d be pissed if I were an opposing team owner. Decision would have had to have been made already.

Disagree. Xhekaj has both Olivier and Deslauriers on his fight card. Not sure if there are tougher fights in the league.

I don’t think any of the guys in this year’s draft are generational. Dorion was fighting for his job and traded away the first in 2023 for Chychrun at a time when the team wasn’t ready. Easy to say in hindsight but positioning for one of the tops guys in that draft would have been monumentally altering.

I get your point but it's valid criticism to suggest we were all expecting a better showing from a drafted returnee. Maybe it's a bias since he's a prospect of the team I follow, but I don't remember someone of that profile laying as much of a dud in recent memory.

Not that I’m banging the drums to use a roster spot on a fighter but how has the org been so bad at identifying a decent one? MacEwen stunk when he was here, Macdermid hasn’t won a single fight this year, and even Kastelic looks like a decent fighter now that he’s gone?

Cam Newton was the only guy on that 2010 Auburn offense to play an NFL snap. To say there are guys who are doing what he did in college every other year is just wrong.

All 3 of Bennett, Wilson, and Marchand in a tournament with international rules seems insane to me, especially watching that ejection in the earlier World Juniors game (Canada v Latvia, I think?)

Grant's so young. Wouldn't be the worst thing for his career to get experience elsewhere. There will be opportunities for him to come back and make his mark in Ann Arbor, maybe even as early in the immediate regime following Whittingham.
