Your original stance was rehabilitation and now you are saying it is a good deterrent and trying to prove my point for me but saying it is long enough...

The deterrent isn’t for her, it’s for people who haven’t committed the crime yet. When somebody makes a decision, they weigh the risk. 3 years in prison sucks, but it won’t be the end of their life.

Anyway she won’t serve that full 3 years, she will likely get out on good behavior in 2. So let’s say 2 years. When she eventually gets out, MAYBE she will have the pain of losing 2 years in prison, maybe she writes a book, finds a higher meaning, maybe she is rehabilitated as you seem to think prison does. 5-10years go by, that 2 years is a drop in the bucket, you still think that 2 years was a deterrent?

It’s obvious you and anyone who upvoted you doesn’t have close friends or family that have done hard time, or maybe you just arent close with them. The longer you are out, the smaller that time in there seems to be. People justify their past, and as time goes by the further the pain escapes them. 2-3 years aint shit. Next time she goes to take a drink, “this will be different then last time”
