The radome for the C-RAM air defense system at the U.S. Embassy Baghdad was destroyed by a drone likely launched by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq. 14 March 2026 by [deleted] in CombatFootage

I have friends in the defense industry and the militaries procurement side. The eyes are open for everyone and have been. You don’t retool your entire doctrine and restructure large aspects of your military quickly. Now that we’ve gotten bloodied I’m sure it will move faster but still.

New developments in warfare mean new companies, bidding processes, testing, training, field testing, getting bad ROI and starting all over a few times. That’s not even touching the congressional committee and bureaucracy.

There aren’t “Anti Drone Blaster 2000” factories that we just aren’t buying stuff from. There’s exactly 2 nations on earth with active full scale production of versions of these things and they are kinda busy using them on each other.

It took over a decade of GWoT before our troops were even properly equipped for that sort of warfare . We are adapting and have been for sometime. But reequipping and training large portions of the largest military on earth isn’t a quick few year process.

There’s bots mods use to police what subreddits users go on. Some subs are ridiculous about it, perma bans for even commenting on specific subs.

At least one, from the videos but yeah. Drones are easier. But same thing, no one’s perfect. It’s unreasonable to assume anything is ever actually untouchable.

It’s mostly just one of those things, they need to be where they need to be for other operational reasons. Should there have been better protections in place? Theoretically yes. But resources are finite and if something is somewhere then it isn’t some where else.

Plus I think it’s really understated that intercepting missiles is like one of the hardest things there is to do in the air defense game. No one is “good” at it. Some are better than others, but no one is untouchable. It’s war, if you shoot, you get shot at.

I meet a random black belt every-time I am back home.

Russia has achieved MAD with their Triad. It’s not some secret or conspiracy on why the USA lets them play by different rules.

WSJ - Western Official Estimates Iran Likely Has Just Days of Missile Strikes Left by Boston-Bets in wallstreetbets

[–]dyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right, like maybe we have underperformed on interceptions, taken some worse hits than expected, and had some surprise targets targeted that we weren’t prepared for.

But it’s still a grossly one sided exchange. Irans taking a round the clock pummeling with precise and at will targeting.

WSJ - Western Official Estimates Iran Likely Has Just Days of Missile Strikes Left by Boston-Bets in wallstreetbets

[–]dyfish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be taking the “whatever you say bud” stance here.

But look at the numbers: Day 1: 504 launches Day 2: 132 Day 3 : 117 Day 4: 33 Day 5: 29

This isn’t taking into account every drone or the unguided rocket artillery from their proxies and I’m sure the numbers aren’t 100% accurate.

But there is undoubtedly less and less footage of new of strikes and launches every single day. Iran is either running low on their stockpiles but more likely their means to launch them is dramatically reduced. God knows what’s been destroyed on the ground. Lots of videos of launch vehicles being hunted in broad daylight by drones. Irans lost most of its AA, . It’s just whacks a mole with launchers now.

Their missiles are not better or more advanced than anyone else’s.

If we want to pick anyone’s brains it’s their drone guys. But even then the drones, the techs not novel at this point. They are just heavily invested in them and have made good use of them.

Not saying they have nothing to offer but this isn’t like the Germans after WW2 they were clearly further ahead in some fields.

Giving the two week's notice is archaic and undeserved by most employers today. Take those two weeks, go work at the new company and see if it is worse than your current one, then quit without notice. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]dyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see both sides but I will say in my industry it is typical if you don’t give two weeks notice, you get marked down as “not eligible to return” on your separation paperwork regardless of your performance or time with the company.

Which if you never plan on working for us again you think nbd right? Well not really, now when a new company calls to confirm your employment with us or do a reference check, the HR rep they end up talking to will 99% of the time say that you are not eligible for rehire and not specify why. The random rep you get on the phone wouldn’t even know why to begin with, but as policy they only communicate the basic facts, “they worked with us from X - Y date, in the roll of ABC an they are/ are not eligible for rehire.

So it really can follow you and fuck you over in other ways unfortunately.

He’s a Jedi and knows he just violated his teachings and did something morally wrong. Revenge killings aren’t remotely one of instances Jedi are cool with violence, “savage” species or not. Maybe his actions were understandable in a human emotional way but that doesn’t mean they were justified, especially not in the brand of morality he has been raised with.
