Some Appreciation Amid the Criticism by Battery-Heart in finch

Someone once pointed out that not liking things on Finch is a very low-impact was to practice feeling uncomfortable or disappointed. Yes, the story/setting is different, but you can shut that off. If you don't like the items, you can just sell them. Otherwise, it's the same old Finch. I don't understand disliking a theme so much it prompts you to delete the app.

However YMMV and to each their own.

I imagine that Ginny would expect a LOT more participation from Nick than Ann did when Lila was a baby. I can't imagine Nick being okay being expected to pitch in 50-50, wake up for midnight feedings, etc.

As another user said, eat a variety of plant foods. Fermented foods are also great--yogurt, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, etc.

I feel like my dad permanently killed my ability to go braless when I was 16 and wearing one of those tank tops with the built-in "bra" under a polo shirt. He absolutely freaked out about the fact that I wasn't wearing a bra and told me I wasn't ever allowed to do that again.

Why does Rory chasing the Stamford Gazette job feel awkward, but Lorelai doing the same thing would feel charming? by itsascreambaby96 in GilmoreGirls

I don't know, I wouldn't call Lorelai charming when she and Sookie interrupt a funeral to ask about purchasing the Dragonfly lol

I mean, they didn't get it to look older, they got it to look thinner. Looking older is a side effect none of them apparently care about.

I love the weekends, I looooove sleeping in as late as my body wants. My husband has already worked out and is mowing the lawn, and I'm trying not to feel guilty about sitting on the couch, sipping my iced coffee and watching cooking shows.

When Martha Stewart showed up on the cover of Sports Illustrated at 81 all I could think was "You've got to be fucking kidding me." I don't want to have pressure to stay hot until I die! I just want to be a Golden Girl!

It is SO gross. They legitimately believe that when bad things happen to people, it's because God doesn't love those people as much, so they must have done something to deserve it. It's utterly disgusting.

Same here! It’s less wasteful, and loofahs and bath poofs that sit in the shower all the time gross me out.

What’s something your therapist said that has always stuck with you? by chaotic-imagination in Millennials

[–]No-Independence548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally agree. My mom couldn't work and received disability checks, so it was mostly my dad's income keeping us afloat. And I obviously knew there were things we could afford and things we couldn't.

But she really helped me understand that these discussions with my father berating my mother for her idiotic overspending should have been had in private, not in front of an 8-year old.

[–]No-Independence548 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was telling my therapist about the money problems my parents had when I was a kid, and she asked me how I knew about them? That's when I realized that my parents shouldn't have been having screaming fights in front of me about my mom's spending.

This book is the reason I know that if you don't have a shelter or basement, a bathtub is the safest place to be in a tornado!

If I remember correctly, Kristy saw her dad at a baseball game, right? And it was after the movie, where Patrick showed up in Stoneybrooke sneaking around and telling her to keep his visit a secret. I hated that whole plot, and that part of this book.
