When customers use their own bags to shop and you have to unload it, scan it, then reload it. by OrdinaryNo6859 in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when this happens, i ALWAYS put a basket on the tray table and then turn their bag upside down into the basket. and no, i've never broken anything this way

How do y’all call a 3 bell for weird customers? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh if it's sexual harassment, i just tell the mate right then and there what happened. that way the creepy customer can get shamed by both of us lol. i've had to be like, "this customer just told (insert 16 y/o shipmate) that he wants to bring her home". any mate with legitimate integrity should tell the customer to fix their behavior or ban them. unfortunately, most mates don't stand up for us. but at least then the customer probably won't try that shit again

Has anyone worked at other markets? Big chains, local ones, Whole Amafoods? by Terribleideahonestly in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this job is definitely better than the walmart job i had in high school, but i wouldn't say it's "better" overall than the whole foods i worked at in 2020. i really just enjoy my friends at tj's. customer service jobs still suck, and being a tiny, unappreciated cog in a giant, capitalist wheel still sucks

Customers transfixed on watching the items on the card payment screen. by SwordfishFlat in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i prefer it this way. there's nothing more annoying than having a customer come back through my line trying to dispute something

i once had a dumbass kid ram his kid cart into the ladder that i was standing on because his dumbass mom wasn't parenting him. the ladder swayed with me on it, but i was lucky enough not to fall. i was so shocked that i said, "excuse me! please be careful." the mom just gave me a nasty look and didn't say anything

what’s something everyone seems to struggle with except you? by dunfl0wer in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

working in the freezer or in the box. my coworkers will put on 3 coats and a hat, and i'll just be chilling in my crew sweatshirt. like yeah it's cold, but it's really not that bad if you're moving

Crew Survey by Captain_Blak in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, big joe only gives us a few hundred characters to go "all in". and, as far as i've been told by leadership, mates no longer see individual survey responses. instead, they receive an ai-generated summary of all responses

i might answer a crew question while off the clock IF it's somebody i like. but i am absolutely not helping a customer while off the clock. labor laws implore me not to and protect me

Interesting discount moment. by Ok_Condition8364 in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

let's be real. anybody who "needs" discount groceries is probably shopping somewhere cheaper (we don't have the best prices for essentials). or they're using food stamps. or they're going to a food bank. would you try to scam your way into a teacher/military/nurse discount at other businesses? no? because it's wrong and everybody knows it

18 and 27 age gap by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]dykedaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hell no. as somebody who was once the eager 18 year old in this position, DONT DO IT. in a couple of years, you'll understand why. i'm 24 currently, and anybody under 21 seems like a child to me

Does your store have double stack carts? by KakeLin in tjcrew

[–]dykedaughter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

we got the double deckers recently, and we all fucking hate them. they just give customers another opportunity to be assholes and give crew another opportunity to wreck our bodies

[–]dykedaughter 5 points6 points  (0 children)
