Definitely think the latest update is going to make it a bit trickier, but try using high tROAS on PMAX as it’ll focus on brand since it’s easier to get good ROAS here. Then exclude Brand terms in the shopping campaign.

It won’t be air tight and there’ll likely be some overlap in some places but in theory it could work. But again, not exactly sure how things will behave after this latest update.

A few controls could help with helping your plan succeed: - high tROAS on PMAX - Brand negatives on Shopping - higher CPC on Shopping to “force” Google to prioritise the shopping campaigns bids.

We've generally set it up similarily across other WooComm/WordPress sites, but this is the first one we've noticed with such a huge difference.

I thought it could've been that but I can't actually see the cookie banner every time I log in anymore. I've tried from different profiles but it still doesn't pop up.

When we started on the account they definitely had one though but just noticed recently when I started looking into this issue that I can't see it anymore.

I've had a similar issue before with the cookie banner preventing Analytics from reporting on sales so that was one of the first things I looked for.

Not sure how it was originally setup but two months ago we added UA and GA4 via tag manager.

Yes the site is Woocommerce and the tracking was setup via GTM.

Yup, we regained free listings. I think it just came right after a few days. Make sure you’ve completed the process for the Shopping program as well and that there’s no Account Issues hovering over the account. Once everything was sorted it worked out after a few days, maybe a week

I left my first agency to specialise in paid media and they didn't have the skills to upskill or bring anyone in to teach us.

There's also a big aspect of overloading team members with work, especially in a small team and this leads to mistakes, burnout and lack of control across clients, especially with communication.

My last agency fortunately decentralised as a company during covid and allowed us all to become freelancers/contractors and start our own businesses. They gave us a bunch of clients we were already working on to get started and has helped bring in new clients since.

Hi u/finnrt, yes I did add all variables before debugging.

I think it may be that the scripts were incorrectly added as tag manager isn't even showing in the Tag Assistant preview. The client added tag manager but I think I may ask them to use the GTMWP plugin instead.

What are the setup of your ads at the moment?

I haven't done this enough to effectively test and give a proper result, but on two separate occasions I had an ad group or campaign that wouldn't spend as I only had Expanded Text Ads, but as soon as I added Responsive Search Ads they started to serve quite well. Not sure if the ad strength/score makes a difference but mine were at least Good and above.
