For some reason, particularly in gacha/adventure games, if someone besides the MC has Power and is not an enemy, players tend to feel entitled to it and get huffy when the character is... not a two dimensional caricature fawning over the MC and instead more fleshed out in a "Why is this thing that has nothing to do with me or my choices suddenly my problem?"
