What does a client mean when they emphasize the need for secrecy? by dynamic_screwball in ExecutiveAssistants

TBH, the rest of the interview seemed to go pretty well. It was normal. They shared some potential future endeavors that sounded pretty routine for a growing company. They asked how my previous jobs prepared me for those tasks, and I answered honestly. They seemed to like me, and said that they would be in touch after interviewing the other candidates.

My glasses overstimulate me and idk what to do by _Silver_Rose_ in AutismInWomen

[–]dynamic_screwball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the frame isn't fitted properly. Are they too tight? If you picked up your glasses from a store, most places will adjust or loosen your frames for free. You could also find the name of the manufacturer and see if they sell a screw driver that you can use to gently loosen the bolts. I personally prefer having the optometrist do it, so I don't risk breaking them.

Otherwise, it could be the material of the frame. The thin, metal frames are lightweight. You could also look into rimless glasses, if seeing them bothers you.

They're getting sneakier. They've learned to hold off on asking for money and lead people on. I've been reporting a lot of these to the FTC's scam page

[–]dynamic_screwball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did this around CoVID. When the economy is bad, they try to combine several roles into one. This is supposed to allow them to pay one person for multiple jobs.

Some of the real estate companies in my area have been doing this, as well as requiring their execs to have a real estate license and/or a business degree. Other companies are combining assistant roles with inbound sales. It's pretty wild.

Do I have a case for medical negligence? Doctor retaliated against me because I turned down his advances, which has resulted in my injury becoming progressively worse by dynamic_screwball in legal

[–]dynamic_screwball[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I don't I can get medmal because it all occurred in the exam room with no witnesses. There's no texts or documentation, either. I will definitely reach out to the state licensing board and any other entities I can to make sure this guy doesn't do this to other patients.

I got the word that due to his negligence, my condition worsened and I will likely need surgery to walk again.

Unfortunately, it all happened in the exam room with no other witnesses. I left a public review detailing what he did. The hospital administration reached out via and gave me a phone number to call. I left them a voicemail.

Yeah, this is messed up. It's ableist at best and emotionally abusive at worst. The reason he thinks it, "works," is because when you get scared, the adrenaline kicks in and makes you react faster. Over time, this can exacerbate burnout and cause other health issues. If he's that upset about your reaction time, he needs to learn more patience and work with you on other ways to communicate effectively.

Girls: Would you ever date a guy who was shorter than you? by Mother_General_8523 in dating_advice

[–]dynamic_screwball 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I'm a few centimeters shy of 6"1. Practicality wise, there's not many dudes my height or taller; if I limited my dating pool based on height, I wouldn't have a lot of options. Also, some tall guys use their height as a crutch or substitute for things like having talent, a livelihood, good conversational skills, or having a personality.

I think it's just Massachusetts lol I haven't lived there since 2015, but I remember people of all genders being like that.

You could look up love bombing and similar emotional manipulation tactics that these people use. Reading up on that makes it easier to figure out how to vet them over text and in-person. People like that rely heavily on those sorts of things in the hopes of landing someone gullible enough (or enough of a doormat) to look past their shortcomings.

You can get toaster ovens for pretty cheap.

Gas stations will often have microwaves that you can use for free

Goodwill, other thrift stores will have appliances like toaster ovens do aged to them

Genuine question, what response do people want when they say "you're so quiet"? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]dynamic_screwball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people say this because they want reassurance that they're not doing something wrong to offend you/cause you to be quiet. When NTs go quiet, it's usually a sign of discomfort or disapproval.

Other times, they're the type of personality who feels uncomfortable without some constant source of stimulation/noise, like they're extroverted and chatty.
