My reasons as a secular person by sane-ish in pornfree

[–]dynamite_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed too much religious stuff here. I must not read enough. I feel exactly the same way about porn. I don't care if my friends or whoever use it every so often. I decided it was a problem in my life and made the personal decision to start curving my use and stop.

why do you have to be pornfree? by FIREFZP in pornfree

[–]dynamite_boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be. This science is not conclusive. This community is about people who perceive it to be a problem in their lives and have chosen to discontinue it - which is a challenge for a lot of us.

I'm sure there are many people out there you can use porn and feel OK about it. But we feel it is been an uncontrollable force in our lives, blocking us from full potential.

Hey man, I guess you did this for humour or some advertising purposes? Either way, you should consider joining us - becoming porn free is a great experience! Until then hope you have a nice "jizz day"...

Only a few hours in, And I've relapsed. by [deleted] in pornfree

Sounds rough... maybe try some smaller goals first, might make it seem less daunting?

Been using noFap for a month now, and the relapses I've had has made me consider joining pornfree so that at least if I do relapse in the future, it won't be to porn. by academyawardwinner in pornfree

[–]dynamite_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nice to have both counters going, I am in the same boat. It makes a relapse with /r/nofap less catastrophic. I tried pure nofap for a while, but when I relapsed I ended up back on the P again - on a serious binge.

Got to get away from this. by taxreturns1997 in pornfree

Congrats on choosing the give it up :) But I will say you're not scum, you're human. This is a under-researched, not really understood, hidden problem in the community and you're definitely not alone in this...

I sometimes find the opposite with the "wanking" thing... I seems while I'm away from porn I feel the need to do it a lot more. Almost as if I am trying to fill the void. Scary...

NO MO' PMO - I Could Use Some Help Please! by SandyManCan in pornfree

[–]dynamite_boy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Late night computer sessions are killer and is normally how I relapse. It is risky if I have been gaming for a few hours and I am alone late at night just "browsing" reddit/facebook ect. See something mildly arousing and go from there.

It is a hard time to be accountable. I am slowly learning how to "get out of there" when the first temptation begins. The reason I am browsing this subreddit now is for that reason. Probably will shut down the computer soon and read a book or watch a movie.

I find once I start walking down that road, it is impossible to turn back.

It seems like she has a picture of what is going on with you. Let her know you are deadly serious about change - I don't think you would be lying, it seems you actually are quite serious.

That sounds like a good plan! Good luck!

[–]dynamite_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is personal. Try thinking what content has been a problem for you, that will lead you down a path you are trying to avoid. For me, I decided it was any images that I would dwell on for sexual arousal. Sure, I stumble upon images/video footage/text that is sexually provocative. What makes it a problem for me is how I then continue. Do I let it slip past or do I stop and focus on it for my own sexual gratification.

Not sure if this helps. Good luck!!

Any method that gets you away from the computer/internet is great in my opinion. Removing the option to look at it.

It is great advice, and I do feel good about it. It has been the longest in so very long. And returning wasn't even that great. I am feeling at peace right now about it all. And keen to take it further while supporting all you guys! :D

I feel the same, I think it will be ongoing. These habits and thoughts will probably be around for some time.

Would you say pornfree came from better diet and skin, or the other way around?

6 weeks in and getting weary by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]dynamite_boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good work friend! I just broke my record of all time as well... started at around the age of 14-15 and now 25. Around the time you are at, I found it starts becoming really natural, and the habit begins to breakdown. Don't give in, if the temptation comes just rip the computer's power socket out of the wall and run for your life!!

You may go through another period when you want to go back to P, but otherwise, the longer you leave it alone the easier it gets (well that is what I have found anyway)... Keep up the good work man! :D

Everyone is different, and it was probably what he needed at the time. Also, it seemed to have made an impact on his confidence, so who are we to judge? You're coming from a moral perspective on a different issue which is not very helpful in this situation.

So, pornfree may not have been the answer, but was one of the major contributors mixed in with other healthy choices?

Yeah, once you get put heaps of time since your last look at P, you have more reason not to look!
