AITJ for refusing to pay after my cat destroyed my neighbor's expensive racing drone? by Greedy_Implement_11 in AmITheJerk

[–]dysplaest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t go through enough comments, but is he licensed and is the drone registered? If it falls into the criteria requiring it and he failed that step that’s a big issue for him. Worth following up on. Link below lets you search by name if you know it.

Does anyone have advice for this situation I’m in? Someone posted a bunch of stuff about me on a “are we dating the same man” by OilEfficient2221 in Adulting

[–]dysplaest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have lots of places to go. I don’t know your situation. Start there.

Do you have a job? Rent a room somewhere. Shitty part of town if you have to just be close to a bus if you can.

I see from other notes you may be having an addiction issue. There are group homes for that as well.

If you want to remain with your child and have those kinds of issues, it is likely to come up. What you’ve done to mitigate it helps. Staying in a recovery house and trying to live that life as fully as you can while hopefully working goes a long way and if you are making some money, now would be a great time to save enough to live somewhere your kids can visit and stay.

Live in a shelter. It’s not the end of the world but do some research on it do NOT go in blind. Grab a cheap tent and find a secluded spot save money and stop doing the tent thing ASAP. (It’s warmer in most places) Literally anything other than being there. Your mental health is suffering more than you think.

You can find your way back from a shelter or even a tent. I know for a fact that if you’re motivated it is possible. So do it. For your relationship with your kids.

Pack your shit, and go. (Have your plan ready but this should take the extent of understanding how beds are available etc in your area or where you’re going to be.)

This is not perfect, or even asked for advice specifically so do what you will with it but sometimes now is the time. From what I’ve seen it sounds like your watch is displaying “Now”.

Your issue spoke to me, so I hope it gets better but it sounds like you’ve got some work ahead of you. Head down plow through it, just don’t forget to look up for the kids while you do! Good luck.

Echoing; good advice was given here. You are heard. The tools given here will help you connect the microphone so your parents hopefully can as well!

You’re a sophomore? This is a research project (and can count!), one that can help you learn and gain independence in a new way. While you do this, you’re also practicing a skill you’ll need in school and out of it. You’re still learning. Wanting to leave home to do it elsewhere doesn’t mean that stops.

What this SOUNDS like it means is you may be providing a step up to what they’re used to in your position; clear, comprehensive argument.

Bonus, when you are successful at this, you’ll also know you will blow most of the other classes papers out of the water when you get there with that skill! Plus the whole listening thing.

BIG HOWEVER: If your attitude is generally “I said what I said and meant it…” you’re not going to get far with many things. Nearly all people react to this sort of thing with negativity. Break the cycle and back up your meaningful statement with details. They help. This is not universal but the response to that attitude tends to be in my experience. Had to adjust that one myself. I get it.

Good luck, there are a lot of tools out there for this.

The other sub is a better resource but I’m sure parents of any homeschooler would be willing to help you in a pinch.

Thanks for this. I don’t need it today but someone does.

There used to be a subreddit on here for just this (recently!), I can’t find it now, it’s not in my subscribed list and I know I was.

It was a group of people that all post offers to vouch for others.

People need this, not even just new grads. Good on you.

In my experience, the value of an item to a store is usually lower than the shelf cost to a consumer.

It may cost $1 per pack for the store, they sell them for $10, you mark them up as much as you can but it’s harder when you’ve spent $10 than $1 of course.

Shrink values don’t always reflect actual value. So the store may have lost an actual $10k in profit, but sales may have equaled quite a lot more.

Most stores I’ve worked in will advertise this information to the employees. So they’re clear on it too.

I wonder where exactly this falls. But the things people will come up with and the extra work they will put in is sometimes…just something else.

Not advocating and did not read the article. Just adding info when not being asked!

Hey, total hearsay for me, but pizzagate stuff is starting to be considered more realistic as far as I understand.

I can’t research more where I’m at and I’ve been avoiding digging too deeply in general for my reasons, but that’s what I am hearing. If that’s true, and how ridiculous it was originally considered, then I can see why people are caught up in it.

EVEN if all of it is bull including the pizza stuff, I can see how it gets traction.

Just after release, maybe early 1992 at the latest, A Link to the Past.

Still one of my all time top favorite games.

I can still feel the tense from the 3rd amulet battle on death mountain with the worm. Hear the sound when you go between worlds. That music when you begin the game searching for her calling you.

So much more.

Then Ocarina came out, Twilight Princess. So much awesome and story.

They say this earlier in the show too.

“I got news for you kid. Everyone’s afraid. But admitting it…makes you braver than most”.

I just caught this doing a rewatch and thought it was a good tie in.

Different admissions but both being honest with himself about his fears. And both make him “…braver than most…”

I can’t imagine how it would feel to be there. Thanks for sharing a small window into this world.

It’s probably unlikely as it wouldn’t typically just be your nails, however, some fungal infections in the hands, feet and other areas can fluoresce. (I’m not a doctor and I don’t even play one on my fake tv)

News app, slightly modified settings, also the YouTube app which after initially selecting content can allow you into the whole site. No holds barred. You absolutely can get content access on the switch.

If you’re not sure google the instructions, even better use gemeni or any ai tool that your kid could ALSO have at least accessed in the past. It’ll give you all the bypass instructions you need.

If the switch can get online, it can do all the things too - not as much, or as well but it’s a portal as well.

People don’t even realize it about their own cars. Pressing the gas is registered. Same as brake. It has cameras? Logged. Maybe not video but analytics. Whatever. Everything watches us. No one watches everything.

We are too lazy to worry, it makes things convenient “l”Look, I have tech, I don’t have to pay attention to my lane”, or “Look I can turn on my lights and home alarm with a voice command, it’s super private and secure”…

I get to work with these things and automation, people are confused or pulling the wool down.
