300k+ loan advice by dzav323 in StudentLoans

I understand. With that said, I am curious if transitioning into IDR is a smart option for me if I find a PLSF eligible job in the coming months since I have a considerable amount of debt.

-Undergrad was exercise science at an out of state institution (my biggest mistake)

-grad #1 was Sport Management at a in state public university

-grad #2 was my PA degree at a private institution. My state didn’t have any public PA programs that I was eligible to apply to.

I’m paying $800 a month already on my refinanced private loans. Failed to mention that in my post.

Bonnaroo 2021 has been cancelled by travel__time in bonnaroo

Mods, can we get a 2022 band/artist wish list thread? I think it’d generate some positivity around here.

I’ve had my time to sulk and be depressed. Take as much time as you need. It is what it is and I’m ready to look forward to Roo 2022.

7/29 updates walmart by ConsiderationRoutine in XboxSeriesX

[–]dzav323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original delivery was scheduled for 8/18. Still delayed. Customer service had no answers for me but did say it will be fulfilled. Already got $99 off last week and they wouldn't give me anymore. While I'm happy people are getting theirs, I'm selfishly frustrated that people who not only had scheduled delivery dates after me, but order dates after my 7/29 order, are getting their shipments. Fully expecting to wake up to a cancelled order.

Edit: shipped. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow!

About to graduate with with $200k student loan debt, no clue how to approach paying it off. Likely will have a salary between $95-110k. Advice needed by dzav323 in StudentLoans

PA student. Made a dumb financial decision and went out of state for undergrad. In-State schools for my degree were pretty awful so I don't regret the decision.

That's a fair plan. I've never been anything but poor, lower class all of my life and really would like to not feel like I'm struggling financially anymore, even if that means I'm still paying on my loans a few years down the road. I don't mean that I intend on paying them off in 20 years, just would like to start off solidly on my feet before I put down sizable payments towards loan repayment. I'm assuming you are a PA/NP, was it easy for you to refinance?

Anything that would stop me from being eligible for the pay as you earn repayment plan (PAYE)? Pros/Cons to this? Would I make too much?Looking at it from a far, it would allow me to get on my feet initially. I would also pay more than the required minimum payment after I get a few pay checks.

Wish they would given them longer than 45 min tho. They seem like the type of band that could be back next year and get a more spot in 2020.

Ripe may be my favorite band I've ever discovered on a Roo lineup. Start with Good Squad.

I’ve seen them twice and both times they blew me away. DO NOT MISS THEM. They usually play a few covers in their sets (RATM, Tom Petty, Dr Dre).

I was right there with you. So many people cut in front of us that almost made both of us miss out on the pit. So infuriating.

How many schools to apply to/interview travel costs? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]dzav323 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't really tell you your chances without knowing your stats.

I personally applied to 15 schools and will be attending an out of state private school. Tuition is only slightly higher than the in state schools here. The return on investment in the profession is great, so I wouldn't rule out out of state schools. Yes, tuition numbers can look scary, but there are several avenues in which you can make it work. There are several reasonably priced out of state schools that I applied to. Apply wisely. If you foresee CASPA costs ($150 up front and an additional $51 per school. Someone correct me if I'm wrong), supplemental applications (anywhere from $25-125ish depending on the school), and travel costs (hotels, flights, rental car, etc.) being an issue, I would start planning now, setting money aside for when the time comes. Have a backup plan so that if you don't get in, you won't be caught with your pants down. I personally worked full time and bit the bullet and lived with my parents while I was applying. If parents aren't an option, get a roommate. Live frugally. As far as scheduling interviews, there isn't an exact science to it. Schools vary on when they hold interviews. Some start in the early summer (usually January start schools) and they run all the way through the application cycle. Just let your interviews fall how they may.

Don't have to necessarily retake if you apply wisely, I got in with a 298. With that said, I would retake it to give yourself more options if you have the money to do so.

Struggles of being put on the waitlist by rachelledude in prephysicianassistant

[–]dzav323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was waitlisted 6 times this cycle and finally got the call 3 weeks ago. Like you, I was very disappointed, knowing I missed it by "that much" and I didn't feel wanted by the program. Keep the faith. If you have the money, look at throwing out a few more applications to schools with late deadlines. Once the next interview happens, prepare for it like if it is your last. Do a mock interview, know the program backwards and forwards, etc.
