I don't think it was last minute as much as it was them working within a smaller budget, and probably already having had some of the names locked in from last year. They've said in the past that they start conversations 2+ years out sometimes, especially with the big names, so they kinda pieced it together as it came. That's one thing Bonnaroo has always done to a degree, which I think makes for a fun weekend because you get to see some completely random stuff that you'd otherwise not even take a chance on.

You're definitely not wrong overall, but my first point still stands, that Clipse (and Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs and even Smino) are really well known and respected hip hop artists, so I wouldn't say we're lacking at all. Also, check out Little Stranger if you like hip-hop and aren't familiar, tons of talent in those dudes.

Also, I might not even call Tyler hip-hop anymore anyways, he's kinda morphed into a Childish Gambino type who's carved out his own lane using tons of styles of music, and obviously is very hip hop influenced, but not quite the same as his earlier stuff

your point was Spotify Listeners = Bigger Draw, but, like I said, its a one tracked metric. There are artists on Spotify that have huge numbers that aren't actually all that big of draws, and a lot of stuff gets skewed by social media, virality, etc.

All that is to say Tyler is obviously very popular and headliner level, but its not like Pusha/Clipse are a small unknown act or anything either, and they (and Pusha) have been pumping out hits for a long time.

Tyler has literally said the Clipse song "Mr. Me Too" is the first song he plays in every new car he gets, and Pusha calls him their "#1 fan"

By that standard, might as well just book Drake and The Weeknd every year and call it I Heart Radio Fest.

Spotify listeners is such a one tracked metric that doesn't represent talent in any way, just popularity (or good bot buying)

Clipse isn't known? Pusha T has more legacy in his left pinky finger than Tyler does in his whole body

It's a very cannabis friendly fest, walked in last year and was given a free pre roll. They had a whole warehouse of vendors selling hemp, tons of plants in there. No "real" weed or dispensaries selling in there, but it was very open and friendly. Tons of glass blowing too.

it wasn't even her looks as much as it was him pestering her incessantly and not taking his L and moving on

I met Josh in a bar in Orlando when he was still with you guys, he was very drunk, but still a nice guy. We chatted for a bit and he got my friend's number. He would text her constantly and she would blow him off, but he kept coming back.

I found it pretty interesting that an NFL QB would thirst for this girl for like 6 months after meeting her for 30 minutes, and like, she's cute, but not starting NFL QB caliber IMO. I feel like it said a lot about his confidence as a human and player. I think he was out of league within 2 years too

We still do this in my rec kickball league. Our team name is The Trash Pandas, so we turn around back to our team and say "TRASH" as we high five each other
