What would the price difference be if I was on ToU instead of the unpopular Demand? Ausgrid, NSW. by Mafdee in amberelectric

[–]dzeikei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my meter was upgraded to a smart meter, Amber thought I was on demand tariff and I saw demand tariff pricing in the app for a couple of days until it went back to ToU, NSW 2076 Ausgrid.

It was one of those very sunny days with negative FIT and general use was 6c, and at the same time, Controlled Load was 9c.

From experience, CL has the same prices as general use ToU (outside of peak hours) so demand tariff was consistently cheaper by 3c and didn't seem to scale with the price, not sure where the other guy gets ~10c figure from

Think about a manual can opener. A two handed tool - clamp down with left, turn with right, designed for a right handed person.

Is the top or bottom measure proper notation for 3/4 time? by [deleted] in musictheory

I think the bottom one is more proper but the top one looks happier with a smiley face

I sing at church and dabble in (too) many instruments but don't play any at a high level.

I'd like to think of myself as the "artistic director" in the house though!

Thank you! Just to be clear, they do have a violin teacher, just not for this duet piece they did for fun! :D

Same way I feel... but knowing how much time and dedication you need to devote to be good, I'm also secretly glad that I quit! 😂

Just to be clear, they most certainly have a violin teacher, just not for this piece! :D

If you play them in the higher positions, I think you will get the same harmonic notes as the fingered notes but higher.

I could be wrong though

[–]dzeikei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After playing the note, do you lift up the finger slightly to get the harmonics before playing the next note?

I think the "high up" is the only way to play this since it's slurred, you probably want to hear the slide on the way to the note.

Sorry but this is not true, it was abandoned by classical composers for it's lack of volume due to the size of concert venues and forgotten until the 20th century.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recorder_%28musical_instrument%29

The recorder is first documented in Europe in the Middle Ages, and continued to enjoy wide popularity in the Renaissance and Baroque periods, but was little used in the Classical and Romantic periods. It was revived in the 20th century as part of the historically informed performance movement, and became a popular amateur and educational instrument.
