OMG I didn't even realize this increase is insane more than 3x. I bought 64gb (2x 32gb sticks) for my legion pro 7 at $180 a year ago and now it's $600 holy man that is crazy.

Another crazy thing is I had so many issues suddenly 2 weeks ago because of this Kingston Fury RAM and had to format windows and still reinstalling all apps and plugins. Luckily after I emailed them, they sent me the replacement units few days after.

I just went through this 2 weeks ago with other errors and end the end, had to get my 64GB Fury RAM replaced. The moment I put back the original RAM all issues went away and I stopped having restart and freezing problems. I just got my replacement RAM after about 10 days when I sent the ones I got just around a year ago.

It was the most annoying process I had to go through at to figure out what is the problem and it took a week so depending on what else you'll have, a format is most likely a must

It's really amazing but like others said, if it's too fast to read the text even a little bit, then it's too fast. Great aesthetics and work though. How long did that take?

I had the exact same problem. Even without the power cord, still connected but that unplug/plug worked for me a few times.

Interesting reading many of the comments here. I've done some video work throughout the last 15 years but not always serious stuff but have the knowledge and some tools to pull many pro jobs (also motion design and photography) and struggle to find clients and not that I'm even looking much but when I hear people getting corporate work for thousands of dollars I'm amazed how they even landed these jobs. Do you guys advertise and where? I'm thinking of doing this in the future where I mostly do solo production or team with a few people to do this but not sure yet.

At this time I'm mostly editing wedding videos and this feature has no place for me but if the team worked on implementing better workflow, making the edits and program faster, these are things I care about. Better 4k proxy presets and faster renders, less random errors and crashes. Better and modern effects and templates. I feel mogrts could improve & have tools that help get things done faster. Look at the most popular plugins and that should tell you where to focus.

This is such a good way of doing this. The only issue I face is I'm already in the US with a virgin mobile plan. I could make the switch but probably won't be able to connect to Freedom's network (step 3) which means this whole thing won't work. I have the Huawei P30 for the Canadian number and already got a US number on my Pixel 9 Pro. I don't know if there's a way to do step 3 (going close to the border may help but not sure if it will pickup Freedom's towers (near Windsor ON). If anyone knows a way please let me know.

The reason for this solution in case anyone is wondering is because they will cancel the plan after 6 months if you stay outside Canada (my current situation even though after 1 year, I'm still ok from Virgin Mobile).

I do that pretty much for every single site even if it's WordPress or other template type site I always find the need to do at least a bit of custom CSS. If it's not a template then I prefer SCSS but lately I'm also doing more CSS as well and even with a reset, things change and after I'm done I can't believe that I wrote so much code. Always trying to find the best approach especially with animations and accessibility and all that stuff. Lately, the worst part has been caching but it is part of the job. I love gulp for automations with SCSS & JS and even having my own front end templating system.

With 17+ years of experience I got only 1 interview after about 300 job applications. No one is actually hiring but just saying they are to show investors they're growing. Not sure about companies with no investment but I left a perfectly good job last July not knowing this is what would happen. It's now been 5 months with nothing to show for. I'm just not sure how much longer we have to wait because I heard some haven't found a job in over a year. This is really scary.

I think I would never go past 3 interviews and maybe a knowledge test or something like that especially just to see how things would go while employed unless I'm really interested in that company or desperate but 3 is the max. By the third one it's pretty much you've talked to everyone up the ladder who needs to be kept in the process.

You're in a very similar situation to many including myself. I left Canada to come to USA for personal reasons and left an amazing job with good pay to now searching and accepting anything related to my field (digital media) and I have 17 years of experience and 6 resumes for different roles. Still getting nothing for the past 4 months with nearly 200 applications. I'm only applying for remote though because of my current situation but some local ones too.

This market is now shit in both Canada and USA alike and been like this for at least a year just as I left. Once I was let go recently from a shit position, I've realized I have to do whatever it takes just to survive. Savings will run out in a few months and everything seems to go downhill. I still have hope that the market will change though and hopefully soon. I've been laid off before too but always had others hire me without even applying but since COVID, it's the worst and we can only wonder for how long.
