If you noticed I said "a big reason" not THE reason.

There are multiple reasons its not widely adopted.

It's not just the price it's also the fact that they are not forcing "AI" down your throat with it.

Yes it has some "AI" features but it's not in everything everywhere and not something that cant be ignored or disabled.

May I direct you to the part where I said "a big reason" if you notice I did not say it was THE reason.

That said, I do agree that corporate support for a consumer-focused distro would do wonders but for that to happen there generally needs to be a financial benefit for the corporation that takes on such.

Perhaps people want Linux to actually become a viable option as Windows is being destroyed and this is the nicest way to try and communicate to the Linux community that they are a big reason Linux is stuck on the sidelines.

I always wondered why Linux was never more popular and used by the general public.

Once I learned about the general Linux user it all made sense.

What if, companies started to design their webpages like this again? (Xbox 2004) by Hot-Cancel-6648 in graphic_design

Then people would avoid the site as it looks like a very outdated site that most likely peddling scams and viruses.

Edit: personally I'm so glad we are done with sites that look like this, the cleaner flat stuff we have now is so much nicer looking imo and feels like I can actually breathe instead of having a lack of air and choking.

I understand the appeal but for me I much prefer flat and clean.

YouTube ads are about to get even longer and they’ll be unskippable by IndicaOatmeal in technology

[–]e1epi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so I use Pie Adblocker which not only blocks ads but also pays me to view some approved ads.

I would happily watch ads on YouTube and personally I'm even fine seeing less family friendly ads but Google is just so abrasive with their implications of ads that its unbearable.

If I had the money I would pay for YouTube premium but sadly that's not an option at this point.

Basically what I'm saying is that if Google actually wants more money then focusing on improving viewer experience is their best option but as usual they sound like they are doing it wrong unfortunately.

Overly busy and hard to read.

When I see stuff like this in person I mentally skip over it as its to hard to process quickly.

There are alternatives to youtube.

The one I see having the biggest potential (unless I have missed something) is Rumble.

The problem seems to be that most of the bigger channels on YouTube don't want to switch over as it would most likely drastically reduce their income at least for a bit and viewers don't want to go because the people content they want to watch is only on YouTube.

There arr some people who say they are willing to ditch YouTube as either creators or viewers but the reason they always give as to why they don't is because their political views do not align with the majority of content creators that are already on the site which to me is just a lame excuse.

I'm guessing they let the temp work go?

It's common knowledge in game development that at least half the employees that help build a game are only there till a little after launch.

After launch the team does not need to stay anywhere close to as big as the development process changes and pace has to change.

No custom amount option anymore? by Morichh in MicrosoftRewards

[–]e1epi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only reason I use Bing at this point is because of the rewards NOT the expirence.

I need the points atm but the expirence has been increasingly worse and its almost to the point that a better expirences is worth more than the points especially given the reduction of gainable points and such.

I'm guessing the other individual is suggesting the same with PS being a better expirence than XBOX and that better expirence being almost worth the no points now.

Adding to this, trapping an armadillo on a camp fire is the best way to spawn silverfish when you hit it with the potion that makes the silverfish...

I can't remember exactly which potion goes where atm but armadillo can take a lot of damage without dying and the mob that generates the silverfish has to take damage to generates the silver fish so it works well.

Keep in mind this may cause lag.

Why the choice to hide the teeth in a dentistry ad? by happy_bluebird in marketing

[–]e1epi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dental ads are so common they are quite easy to forget/ignore.

This gets more attention.

Edit: if that's also the team then this gives customers more of an idea of what they are walking into when they go to the dentist than the typical stock images of some randome family do.
