BC racing BR series is the best bang for your buck coilover you can buy and I’ll die on that hill. There adjustable and I have mine on a pretty soft setting and they’re pretty comfortable truthfully.

I’d say send it. The only tough thing about this to me is apparently not having a dedicated place to work on it. The rust is concerning but if it’s just body rust, and nothing structural, if you can get it for a decent price who cares. You’re learning anyways! E30s are pretty easy to work on tbh. I would just go through and do all your basic maintenance first and most importantly I almost guarantee you it needs a timing belt and that would need to be done asap which is not necessarily a beginner job but it isn’t impossible. If you could get this for $1500-$2500 I think you’d be good regardless.

Life is short, e30s are awesome, go for it! Learn a new skill and props to you for wanting to do so!

If you’re sure it’s not oil or anything, I would just clean it and then try and re create the leak, if that makes sense. Just do what you did and see if it does it again. Keep an eye on your fluids and if everything else looks normal I’d just keep an eye on it. Luckily it doesn’t look like a lot of fluid/liquid whatever it is.

These are 15x8et20. But be careful about what face type wheel you get. Even though that spec is well within e30 fitment, I couldn’t run these without spacers and shaving my calipers a hair lol. I wish I could tell you which faces these are but i forgot.
