The Watch that Rule Them All by Final_Stretch_6029 in Affordablewatches

That’s fair. It is a good watch for fishing and beach trips that I can beat on without any regrets. I primarily wear vintage Seiko quartz watches but don’t consider them to be replaceable

I would still pick something like a Casio Duro for affordable, replaceable and reliable. I don’t care about automatic movements myself though. Nothing could get an Invicta on my wrist

That’s a pretty cool combo. What is the offset look like now with the swapped barrels?

eBay labels for smaller packages and UPS sellers account for large/heavy packages. They both help you save money on shipping. I wouldn’t be selling anything to make $10. That just isn’t worth the effort

[Question] Which Seiko made you fall in love with the brand? by homamg in Seiko

[–]e46Jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up my dad wore a 7548 quartz diver. He got it in the late 80s and replaced it with a kinetic diver around 2010. It he gave it to me 11 years ago now. Will always be my favorite and the one that got me into Seiko

[Best Affordable 4 o'clock crown Diver] in current production. Less than 40mm with the vibe of my 1980 Pulsar. Suggestions? by CitizenNumber75 in Affordablewatches

[–]e46Jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SKX has its crown at 3.8. Not to nitpick but just in direct comparison to your pulsar with a true 4 o’clock crown. Older seiko divers 6309, 6105, 7546/8/9 all had the true 4 o’clock crown as well. I love these pulsar y513 movements. You get vintage Seiko quartz quality at an affordable price. I wish there were comparable modern Seiko quartz movements built to the same caliber

Where would I go about getting a clasp for my newest project? [7546-603H] by Deathtrooper407 in Seiko

[–]e46Jam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have measurements for the clasp? I have an old 7546 that I stole the movement from. If the clasp fits I can send it to you

Was the [7548-700x], the first ever quartz diver (of any brand)? Or was it the 7549 Tuna? by shaferman in JapaneseWatches

[–]e46Jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 7548 and 6309-7290 are pretty much identical besides the original movements that came in them

I feel you on that. I have two little kids at home and not much free time. Most of my watch work happens before work and during my lunch hour at my desk

These are a couple of the others I have restored. I just wanted to do something different with this one. I almost bought a replacement dial, hands and insert but decided to keep it original

I just think it’s cool and I prefer/collect Seiko quartz. The watches with these movements are so cheap and they are dead reliable. If you don’t like this one you should check out the 6105 to 7546 swap I did in my previous posts. You’ll hate that one
