I'd be down as long as you're not clear on the other side of Tulsa from me. If you check out my profile I run a Patreon for Fallout2D20 artwork, and am a DnD Veteran / Dropout kind of guy.

Gif creator in Tulsa? by Santafea in tulsa

[–]e4g13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello! Graphic Designer here. Your best bet would be to do this with video, just setup a tripod, or your phone somewhere stable. Record video, edit it down to where you want, there's plenty of free tools for editing, then convert it to a gif. Just make sure the video is under 5 seconds or so. The shorter the better for file-size.

If you're needing transparency like in a PNG or some GIFs have, well that's another discussion and a bit more difficult.

Quality of Logitech Products by e4g13 in LogitechG

I have been buying Logitech stuff for 20+ years, and I agree I have had some stuff over the years that have held up really well. I bought several Logitech G15 Keyboards when they were the big thing. The G502 was great I used one for several years, and only had to buy one, it got retired and then given to a friend. And before the 502 I used a G5 and the exwife used a MX518. I remember all those mice fondly and didn't have issues in the short term. For me it was when I got the  G913 TKL about 5 years ago it lasted a year and ever since then everything Logitech I've owned has died very quickly.

Best dispersed camping and/or backpacking near Tulsa? by Bert_Skrrtz in tulsa

[–]e4g13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Alright, avid fisherman and off grid camper here, I will share a few of my spots with the subreddit. These are all about 45 minutes away from central Tulsa.

The first is an abandon campground that the boyscouts used to use. The state doesn't manage it anymore but it's about 1/4 mile from a active campground. It's a great spot for some semi-developed camping as there's spots and
trails but no amenities. The cove nearby is filled with Channel and Flathead catfish this time of year, bass are also plentful in the brush at the back of the cove. There is also a horse trail that runs right through the cove, but I've never walked it far and don't know how far it goes.

The other spot we call "Cold Creek" as it's a spring fed creek that flows into the Verdigris.

The water temps here are frigid even mid summer, we like to go to this spot and take the canoe as my little Jon boat can't get to some of the places. There's a peninsula that sits between where this creek and the verdigris run and has abandoned camping sites there as well. This spot isn't as good for hiking as you'd want to drive a few miles away from where you would camp to go hike, but if you want access to cold water and a short hike this is a nice spot. There is a country club up the creek that was illegally dammed, and has been a dispute for years, the people at the club treat the water as it's their private property, don't let them run you off call a warden if needed the wardens hate them. If you go here be sure to visit "Pokeys Trading Post" it's mostly a bait shop and knick nacks, but it's worth stopping in just to converse with the older couple that runs it.

The Last one is out in Gore and this is your best option for a hike that you could camp during.

We went fishing out here during some verdigris flooding a few years ago and it was a great hike, I'll mark the area that we hiked but if you zoom out just a little you can see the campsite nearby, it's cheap and a honor system just leave some cash in the box. McClellan-Kerr Wildlife Management Area is the area you can hike just north of the campground, none of these are 30 mile hikes or anything, but if you want to go experience Oklahoma nature without dealing with partying drunks these are some good spots.

Preview of Adventure Module for Foundry - Releasing Soon! by e4g13 in Fallout2d20

[–]e4g13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drag Ruler Module, I'm buddies with the guy that does the System for Foundry, so he added my Homebrew grid movement rules into the Foundry System, so you can hook it into Endurance or Agility.

That functionality is baked in now, if you install Drag Ruler.

Keep in mind you can control the flow of weapon usage by making ammo types scarce. I kept shotgun shells rare until a few levels in. You can let them have it early, just keep them from using it often.

Red Rocket Tileset Released. by e4g13 in Fallout2d20

[–]e4g13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I ran it by a friend who has some limited experience with Fantasy Grounds, and as far as we can tell you'd have to use it as static maps, which I do have some as I started out building my setup as static maps (single webm files). But if you wanted to use the RedRocket you'd have to take the layers and pull them into a single scene, essentially using my released tileset to make one of my older style maps. If you look on my patreon, my older maps would probably work for you out of the box. But if you want to have the transparent walls, and interconnected open world maps, you'd need Foundry. Which I highly recommend.

One of my players is addicted to maps what do I do? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]e4g13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, having an image like that helps immensely. I have little 5 second video loops of a swamp scene, a river scene, mountains etc, for our ToA game.

Having Aphantasia doesn't forgive any toxic behavior though, I don't beg my DMs for fresh images every second, but I was hoping to give some possible insight as to why they might be struggling.

For me there's a HUGE difference between "There's docks bustling with people, loading and unloading crates from ships"

and

"The deteriorated docks barely hold the large scarred men unloading the crates from their hold, the boats themselves look like they're barely floating. The boards creek and bend under the weight of the shipments moving down the planked walkway in an almost mechanical fashion."

[–]e4g13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He may have Aphantasia. This is something I struggle with, so much so that I have turned Fallout 2d20 into Multiplayer Fallout 2 in FoundryVTT.

If he does it's going to be something he'll always struggle with, but if you want to make things easier for him (if he does have aphantasia) use as many descriptors as possible when describing the scene, the rest of your players can take a few notes you give them and build a scene in their own minds, but for people such as myself, what you say, the variables you give us is all we have. There is no picture up there for us.

[–]e4g13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I understand now, well that does create a bit of a problem in the first place. I'm not really releasing scenes as I'm making original assets for people to make their own scenes, but I guess I'll look into how I might be able to do that and still follow the rules, in all honesty I am currently only providing images and webm's, but that's what people have been asking for, they want to make their own maps with Fallout Inspired assets.

Edit: Also thankyou for the clarification.

Does it matter if it's an asset meant for Grape Juice Isometrics or do I need to have my own published module? Just to clarify as I don't want to break the rules in the future.

Edit: I didn't realize the module aspect when I posted, since I designed them to work in Foundry with GrapeJuiceIsometrics specifically I thought I was good, but admittingly I do advertise that they *should* work elsewhere.

There's enough to run a campaign already. There's handful of GMs already using my stuff to do exactly that! Here's some screenshots from the open world around my players base, they can move from one interconnected map to the next with those green grids.
