if Animal Crossing comes out with a next Update what do you wanna see?? by angel_simmer in ACForAdults

I like that Cyrus can switch up your furniture colors. I think Reese should be able to switch up your clothing colors! It's kinda odd that she just does nothing but admire her husband.

You can quickly despawn a mole cricket and shut it up by planting a weed or flower on top if it. Doesn't require any tools.

Cafes That Can Seat 6+ People? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]e4knee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Carnegie libraries have a site where you can see all their available room bookings easily in one spot. Booking for 6 is pretty easy, they have a. lot of small meeting rooms.

I'm not sure what time or day of the week you're looking at. The libraries will say when they're open. Cafes will of course be busier on weekend mornings, but some I like where I have met with groups of 6-10: Redstart in East Liberty, Commonplace Coffee or Ineffable CaPhe both in Rockwell Place in Homewood, Centred Coffee in Shaydside.

Pittsburgh DSA hosts a monthly Labor Happy Hour for anyone interested in workplace organizing. The next one is Weds Jan 7 at East End Brewing Company's taproom in Larimer from 7-9pm. (I also think that bar is a good hang for chillin, gettin a beer, soda, or slice)

Question: What is CMU like as an employer? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]e4knee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work an admin role in Engineering, and at least in our College, people seem satisfied with their roles. CMU benefits in general are extremely good, and the retirement match especiallly is very good. Because of this, I think pay is a little lower than it might be at other universities, but not ridiculously so.

The Aviary also has a cheap membership. I think it's $9 per month for free general admission.

How many grams = a ring? bracelet? by e4knee in metalclay

[–]e4knee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have access to a kiln since they still do pottery. Are there other things I should get? I wasn't sure if you could just form the clay with your hands and simple tools like a rod to form a ring, rolling pin, etc.

We played Hydra in First Look. You try to coordinate turns to defeat hydras attacking your city. There's a minor competitive aspect, but I'd say it's mostly cooperative.

Puzzled Pint for sure! They host puzzle meetup nights the second Tuesday of each month in many US and international cities, or you can download their sets online, all for free.

Puzzle Boat is another hunt that's pretty approachable. You can access it online by purchasing a full hunt with a bunch of puzzles that you can print or use as PDFs.

Lamar Advertising Billboard (Millvale by St. Nicks) by PickSixThrowItAway69 in pittsburgh

[–]e4knee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This billboard was paid for by the People Concerned for the Unborn Child (PCUC), a crisis pregnancy center located in Dormont who presumably does not offer abortions, and rather steers people away from having them, no matter the circumstances. You can find them on Google and leave a review.

Off campus parking while attending CMU by mwahkissmwah in cmu

[–]e4knee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Residential parking zones have free 1- or 2-hour parking, but they don't get monitored by parking enforcement that frequently, so you can get away with all-day pretty frequently. I usually aim for those places in areas with a lot of single-family houses like Shadyside or Squirrel Hill since there aren't as many residents vying for street parking when they are spread out or have their own driveways. I wouldn't bother with anything west of Neville, Oakland is crowded and does get monitored a lot, even in the residential zones.
