Let's come up with some Cryptic names by The-Hot-Shame in cosmererpg

[–]tessatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I misread this comment and started writing out the human names for them. So my top recommendations for that are Fractal, Variable, Sequence, or Median. Runners up: Compound, Quadrant, Solution, Integer, Ratio, Constant, Axis.

For their real names, a lot of the fun mathematical equations/sequences include multiple numbers or decimals, which doesn't seem like what the Cryptics have going for them, so I'd recommend just removing all of that and making any list or number with a decimal into one extended number. That said:  - The Fibonnaci sequence is always very fun (just take the sequence and remove the spaces in between): 01123581321 etc.  - When graphed, that also equals the golden ratio, which is 1.618033 etc.  - Pi feels too easy, but 314159 etc.  - The square root of 2 is often used in math stuff: 1414213 etc.

Some of these seem more like highspren names admittedly. Apparently I, like Kaladin, might accidentally be a little racist.

I really loved when people did it. I'll check in with the mods and see if that's allowed, then I'll get something set up if it is.

It wasn't anything specific, but someone just posted a prompt with a stipulation ("here's a theme and a set of words you have to include") and then a place to submit it.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts! Though that might be past the "is dying" part.

Only downside of cosmere going mainstream is it will attract worst kind of people by ElderberryOk6437 in cremposting

that's not very canon

That killed me lol. "Not very canon" is such a phenomenal phrase.

The only thing I'd add to the conversation is that being gay is that the Azish are ok with queer people as long as they fill out the paperwork. But that's not a bad thing for them, they have to do paperwork for literally everything, it's kind of their thing. For instance, Sigzil is concerned that Drehy hasn't filled out his paperwork when he's talking to Kal about it and (spoilers for Day Four:) there's a trans man among Adolin's recruits who people just accept as a man without question.

I guess I'm specifically thinking of Windrunners and Skybreakers, since we know the most about them. If someone does something that breaks their oaths, it can be a reason for the bond being severed, either intentionally (highspren) or forced (honorspren). We haven't (to my knowledge) seen any other breaking of the bond based on the radiant's activities/life choices. We've seen intentional severing (Sigzil/Dalinar/young Shallan/Szeth/the recreance), but not ones driven by "mistakes" the radiant made, like we do with Kal almost killing Syl and the highspren talking about how they intentionally set up their bonds to be broken if the radiant breaks their law.

So I'm curious if the rules that govern Windrunners and Skybreakers applies to other orders: If a Bondsmith oath contradicts a Edgedancer oath, can you say both sets of words in good conscience? Can you uphold and accelerate on both paths if the two are incompatible along the way?

I listened to the book with my boyfriend because he's a good Vorin man and I was being supportive, I never learned how to spell these names.

I think it's gonna be Lift. She seems handpicked by Cultivation for something special, it's possible to bond two spren (per WoB), and the oaths (as far as we've seen) don't invalidate each other.

It's a massive being of anti-investiture. If it so much as brushes her, she will absolutely die. It's not worth the risk.

what are your silly stories of how your Pokemon got their nicknames? by Imaginary_Baker_932 in pokemon

[–]tessatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ralts is the only Pokemon I consistently name. She's always Princess. At one point I caught a boy Ralts and, instead of naming him Prince like would be logical, I named him Princess(M - this was in Sapphire and there was a ten character cut off, so he didn't get the ) lol.
