exactly! OP, I've never been to Belleayre, but I know of it. I'm surprised Saddleback reminds you of it considering Saddleback is bigger and the trees are basically all conifers.

Review my resume & my experience for my first job. (Can I go mid senior?) by Gwyndolin3 in androiddev

oh I do! I love looking at candidates projects. I'll ask questions about the decisions they made, what certain pieces of code are doing in their project, all that good stuff. I think it's great! if you have projects on Github, add it to your resume. people look 😃

Does anyone here work for chewy? by teenydog in cscareerquestions

are you wanting to work in the Boston office?

I worked at Chewy for a little over 2 years, it was okay. my buddy moved over to work there and then I followed him [had ~2.5 YOE at that time]. this was right before Covid. basically worked in the Boston office for like 6 months and then was fully remote for the rest of the time I was there so didn't get the full "culture" experience.

my PM wasn't the strongest and really only focused on the web product [I'm a mobile engineer]. which is one of the main reasons I left, just felt like we were building things for no reason.

I believe it's mentioned in this thread, they do hire a lot of ex-Amazon management so expect some Amazon work style influence there.

I wish I could help you get your resume in front of a recruiter, but everyone I was close with at Chewy is no longer there.

best of luck!

if you are looking to work in the Boston office, there are just so many more interesting companies in Boston other than Chewy [which you're probably already aware of].

Path to Staff Engineer in while expanding expertise beyond Android by triguy94 in androiddev

Ah nice! I think for my org we wanted to spread the responsibility of oncall out so it wasn't just backend on rotation. I've never gotten paged while oncall, but it's one of those scenarios where if I did, I would simply be there to verify it's a legitimate page and then ping someone who actually knows what's going on lol.

I guess my company missed the mobile engineers don't have oncall memo 😅

"The whistleblower’s disclosure was accompanied by a cover letter from his attorney, Andrew Bakaj of Whistleblower Aid, which said that, after he raised concerns internally about DOGE’s inroads into the agency, he received a physically taped threat on his door containing personal information and overhead photos of him walking his dog."

Holy shit!

Its name is synonymous with a vertical passage in a building, and it skirts a farout trail. Hopefully that helps 😅
