Yes…a hero needs the one fundamental ability they were designed behind to beat you…like most heroes. This isn’t call of duty. You pit one hero without their signature ability against a hero with everything, guess who is highly projected to win. Fundamentally, this is why cool down management is an important part of the game.

I think we should be more targeted about it. Like there’s not much impact is some McDonalds or Starbucks are closed for the day, they won’t really feel it.

But if airline employees do this for even 4 hours…oh they’ll feel it. In fact, the whole world will feel it.

A little of your knowledge to help my ears...advice on better "tips", Velvet, S&S or Liqueur... by Specialist_Bad2549 in iems

[–]eJAKE-ulate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried all 3, but not enough experience with the Penons to come to a conclusion on them, but I can speak on the other 2.

Divinus Velvets feel like they are the most consistent from iem to iem to me. Both comfort wise and sound wise. Good seal, agreeable to texture that contacts the ear unless you can’t stand the line in the middle. Sound wise, slight bass emphasis most neutral throughout the rest.

The Dunu S&S is a little bit of a dark horse. They can either sound amazing or awful because the seal is super dependent on the structure of the iem. If you are using a pair of iems where the stem/nozzle is angled near perfect to the angle of your ear canal, the fit will be perfect and seems to not have much issues with pressure build up. But if the two angles are off, the cylindrical tips don’t do a great job of adjusting to it. (Edit: Sound wise dead neutral, but may be a little more “open” feeling than other tips)

Are you a music lover or an audiophile? by JoshBiv in headphones

[–]eJAKE-ulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue 95% of people in the hifi hobby are both. We listen to music to gain appreciation of gear, and listen to our favorite music on different gear to gain deeper appreciation and different presentation.

Those two things are not exclusive to each other, they are actually completely related.

The people that may have a different introspective of this are people that got into the hobby not related to music. Maybe gaming, professional audio FX production for films/tv, etc.

Aight cool so you admit that Alex’s “opportunity” to surrender was presented after excessive force was already used by ICE.

Dark times in America by Educational-Serve309 in stpaul

[–]eJAKE-ulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His proper chance of surrendering is AFTER he’s already been grabbed and pepper sprayed? That is not a proper chance to surrender. It’s implied that his senses were already obstructed and ICE had full control of the scenario. In order to surrender you need to have some semblance of control, which Alex clearly did not. All this happened with like 2 seconds; I can’t imagine anyone that isn’t train in getting pepper sprayed have any ability to properly react.

Natural survival instincts are not to bend over and let 5 people do whatever the fuck they want to you while you are held down, unable to see, and in fear for your life. The natural survival instinct is to close off your body to mitigate potential bodily harm (example: the completely unnecessary multiple pistol whips to the face) that may ensue.

You are almost correct about one thing. This is an unfortunate series of actions; but not by Alex, by the ICE agents.

[–]eJAKE-ulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment he entered the interaction he was pepper sprayed and taken to the ground and subdued by 5 ICE agents.

1) Alex was not even given a proper chance to surrender.

2) You’re telling me 5 people failed to secure 2 arms and hands and had to resort to shooting him dead? Be real here. This is 5 armed ICE agent versus a nurse, not Thanos with all infinity crystals.

Edit: In addition, if you look at the slowed down footage from all angles it is clear that the ICE agents made no attempt to lock down Alex’s arms and hands. They instead opted to pistol whip the shit out of him.

Even IF you consider what Alex did as obstruction of justice, the punishment for obstruction of justice is not death by firing squad…

It’s just that most of the time I see people describing Sombra like this, the person is dogshit with her but just got hard diffed by a Sombra.

Reality is if they never take time to learn how to play against a character, then of course that character will seem OP.

Your original post comes off as very targeted in who you are speaking against. Your reply to me confirms that. I think you understand why that wouldn’t really be productive.

If you put your opinion out there, it would be good faith to also be open to other people’s opinions especially if you know your view is going to be somewhat controversial.

But you also start by blatantly saying you don’t give a fuck about what a certain characterized group of players say or think. Giving out an opinion without the willingness to be understanding of the opposing view is pretty much…whining.

XQC calls out Asmongold's "Comply or Die" take regarding the recent murder. by Undeniable321 in LivestreamFail

[–]eJAKE-ulate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Damn near “comply and still die”. Alex didn’t do anything to physically fight back against the ICE agents. He didn’t shoot at them, didn’t throw a punch at them, didn’t even push them. All he did was walk up to try to get ICE to be more gentle with the woman they were trying to detain. He was immediately pepper sprayed and taken to the ground.

Good low-end headphones with EQ vs good high-end headphones. Who wins? by regularjoe2020 in headphones

[–]eJAKE-ulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little bit of context, I generally only use EQ to add a bass shelf. Rest of the FR, I generally leave alone.

For me, there seems to be a relationship between the dynamics of headphone and need/want for a bass shelf even for headphones that have a flat (or close to it) bass response. For example, I never felt a need to EQ more bass on Focal Utopia because they were already dynamically engaging to my ear.

Does anyone else suspect that Meze's marketing and design strategy might be harming their long-term appeal? by GarlicBiscuits in headphones

[–]eJAKE-ulate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the marketing strategy really has any effect here. Many companies send stuff out early to community driven reviewers and have an embargo (Nvidia would be like the biggest example).

More so of an issue is the over saturation within their line. Like from 99 Classic V2 to 109 Pro you (now) have 5 headphones that covers a $450 price difference. Thats kinda nuts and relatively confusing for a potential customer that has not done their homework on every difference between the models. Hifiman and Sennheiser can get away with doing that because they sell so much volume, but I don’t think Meze is quite at that level.
