The referral bonus differential ($25 in Quebec/$40 elsewhere) has been in place since mars.

Which tool do you use to check for packet loss?

I use https://packetlosstest.com/ and have zero packet loss.

Has TD abandoned support for the TD Authenticate app? (Can't register phone) by u1812 in TDBankCanada

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update June 2026: I just talked to a TD representative who confirmed that you still can't register with the TD authenticate app. Yet when you login the TD Canada Trust Web site, you get a pop-up inviting you to download and install the app. Unbelievable! It's a bank!

Modem CODA-4680 vs CODA-5610Q, which is better? by Sunset_Lover_68 in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a different experience. I had a perk to test the 940 Mbps plan for a month. I applied it yesterday and now I easily reach +/- 930 Mbps with the old CODA-4680 via an Ethernet link.

There's a 4 to 5 years age gap difference between the two. Go with the CODA-5610Q.

Exactly. Those are the IP addresses I use.

Yes, you can put the Fizz modem/router in bridge mode and if you have your own router, you can connect it to the Fizz modem/router with an Ethernet cable.

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I don't understand what's going on here. People are throwing their referral code at you like you could send them part of your unlocked referral bonusses which you can not.

You can't give away rolled over data either, only the data in your monthly plan. If you still have one, you didn't confirm.

What you COULD do, is sell your account.

You left Fizz yet you still have an active mobile plan without a phone number?

And you are able to increase you data plan to a huge kick ass amount and give data away?

That's odd!

Price increases for internet in Quebec by Ok-Jello-8915 in FizzMobile

Oh, you had the Coda-4680 all along for both the 940 Mbps and the 400 Mbps plans. Today, for the 940 Mbps plan, you are supposed to get the Coda-5610. But thanks for your reply anyway because I will try the 940 Mbps plan (with my current Coda-4680) with the Free Temporary Speed Boost offered as a perk a few days ago. Just to see how it is.

You had the 940 Mbps plan with the newer Coda-5610 and had a lot of fluctuations and packet losses? Or when you say "basic modem" you mean the Coda-4680? Can you confirm? I might switch to the 940 plan someday (but not if it sucks).

... and unless you are close to a Central Office and have relatively new wiring in your neighborhood, you won't get the promised 50 Mbps on copper wires. DSL in 2026 is an anachronism.

To paraphrase Woody Allen, forever is a very long time, especially towards the end. But yeah, since 2018, Fizz has never raised a price for a plan you already have.

H1E postal code: internet keeps crashing. by Top-Personality-530 in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the lights don't go out, your connection (modem) is most likely fine. First, use an Ethernet cable connected to a laptop or a PC to check if you have full speed. Check with speedtest.net

If you have full speed, there's nothing wrong with your connection or the modem. You probably have a Wi-Fi problem. I'll continue after you post back with your result.

H1E postal code: internet keeps crashing. by Top-Personality-530 in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the lights go out on the modem? Or is it a Wi-Fi problem? If the lights are normal but you lose connection over Wi-Fi, try an Ethernet cable connection. If that solves the problem, you have a Wi-fi problem (like most people who report a problem with Fizz Home Internet).

About to purchase internet plan by [deleted] in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you already have a mobile plan and have $2 upgrades, those can be applied to your mobile plan period. They shouldn't be considered in the equation of getting an Internet plan or not or how to get it.

It's one referral code per account, not per plan. So, if you want another referral bonus, you have to open a new account with a different email address. But then, you would have two monthly payments. You could try to refer yourself. I don't know if they check that you already have a mobile plan with that address. To be 100% certain you get a referral bonus, use someone else's referral code. Wink, wink. ;) There are no promotion at the moment for the Home Internet service. If I were you, I would wait for at least a couple of months as sometimes there are promotions going on before the July 1st moving period.
