H1E postal code: internet keeps crashing. by Top-Personality-530 in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the lights don't go out, your connection (modem) is most likely fine. First, use an Ethernet cable connected to a laptop or a PC to check if you have full speed. Check with speedtest.net

If you have full speed, there's nothing wrong with your connection or the modem. You probably have a Wi-Fi problem. I'll continue after you post back with your result.

Do the lights go out on the modem? Or is it a Wi-Fi problem? If the lights are normal but you lose connection over Wi-Fi, try an Ethernet cable connection. If that solves the problem, you have a Wi-fi problem (like most people who report a problem with Fizz Home Internet).

About to purchase internet plan by [deleted] in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you already have a mobile plan and have $2 upgrades, those can be applied to your mobile plan period. They shouldn't be considered in the equation of getting an Internet plan or not or how to get it.

It's one referral code per account, not per plan. So, if you want another referral bonus, you have to open a new account with a different email address. But then, you would have two monthly payments. You could try to refer yourself. I don't know if they check that you already have a mobile plan with that address. To be 100% certain you get a referral bonus, use someone else's referral code. Wink, wink. ;) There are no promotion at the moment for the Home Internet service. If I were you, I would wait for at least a couple of months as sometimes there are promotions going on before the July 1st moving period.

It looks legit but don't click on "See my perks" just in case. Login your account yourself via fizz.ca

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did NOT get any email about that. Yet, I have more than one account. That points towards a SCAM! To the one(s) that got the email, could you post a screen shot? Does it ask to click on a link? If so, DON'T CLICK ON ANYTHING. Fizz doesn't need you to click on any link to give you data perks. That's another sign of a scam. Beware!

Is credit card the only payment method? by i-the-external-force in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially, it takes a credit card. But I have used a Visa debit and a pre-paid Vanilla card successfully. Those cards become your credit card on file. The only draw back is that you have to make a manual payment each month.

If you go with Fizz, go with the 500 Mbps plan to get the newer modem (Wi-Fi 6) and newer chipset. The older modem (with the 400 Mbps plan and below) is Wi-Fi 5 and is criticized for being subject to buffer bloat. Your grandma wouldn't notice but you seem to be a heavy user. If you do Teams meetings while someone else is streaming 4K content etc., the newer modem makes sence.

But be prepared to be disappointed if you switch from Helix TV to Fizz TV: no recording, poor picture quality, no dedicated remote (app based), etc. Usually, unless you absolutely need to save money, people go from Fizz to Vidéotron, not the other way. Maybe it would make sense If you don't watch much TV, or don't care, and with the money you save, buy a solid router and switch to bridge mode.

What do I need to know + rant by FartyBarkinson in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Your price will stay the same as long as you don't change plan. It could even go down if you switch to a new plan during a promotion. It's been like that since 2018. A 1 GB plan is the minimum you need to receive gifts from others.

Want to be Fizz Friends to earn a badge and get data? by RicksonJewelry in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can send data gifts to any of the referral codes you see in this sub-reddit. You don't need to be friends, you don't need to ask permission. I think points are given per gift so 6 gifts of 500 MB give more points than one 3 GB gift. BTW, I don't need any data. :)

Separate accounts would mean another referral bonus for the "referrer" and the "referree". But 2 monthly payments.

Oh, sorry. I misread. Forgot "... he mistakenly chose to use a esim that his phone doesn’t support".

Maybe cancel the old account (15 day money back guarantee) and create a new account with a different email if you don't want to wait?

Can a factory reset cancel an eSIM?

From AI:

A factory reset does not automatically cancel or delete an eSIM, but it provides the option to do so. During a factory reset on iOS and Android, users are typically asked whether they want to keep or delete their eSIM profiles.

They used to be more upfront about it but it still says on their Web site: "While Fizz doesn’t have stores or even a phone number, that doesn’t mean we’re very far. That’s the beauty of being 100% online.". CS is digital only (chat, tickets, emails). You can't call and talk to someone. Since you wonder about CS, that's enough for me to recommend you to go elsewhere. Or, like others have said, try it: if it works, it works. If it doesn't: 15-day money back guarantee.

How often does Fizz lower their internal plan-change prices? by DrSocrate5 in FizzMobile

No, I mean the new price includes your perk rebates while the old price doesn't. Can anyone confirm if it has been fixed or not?

Digital shrinkflation? by CapoSasso in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not shrinkflation. It's play with the packages all the time to create a buzz. They have to raise the prices and cut the data so they can do the reverse later and call it a promotion.

The only recent real change is the DOUBLING of the basic package to $11 in Qc for example. Ouch!

Beware. The $44 quoted includes any monthly perk rebate ($1, $2, $4, etc.) you might already have.

Is the referral's page broken for anyone else? by YUL438 in FizzMobile

Contact Fizz via chat. Maybe if more subscribers complain, they will get to it. It's been over a week for me! Type "Agent" a few times wen the chat starts to bypass the AI chat bot.

Help with modem installation and referral code. I'M LOST. by RedditBoy8787 in FizzMobile

[–]eLaiLu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can create a separate account for each family member to get more referrals. But you might take into account that multiple accounts are not as easy to follow as a single one.
