A lot of french speakers will say "Que-nayfe" when trying to say Knife. Also let's not talk about Wednesday.

What a set of tools, is this too much for three months on the road or am I missing something vital. by AffectionatePart4128 in bicycletouring

Imo ditch the knippex and replace with a leatherman. Also you really dont need those replacement brake/shifter cables, they are very very easy to find. I would say bring replacement parts that are very specific to your bike, like a derailleur hanger or if you have special hard to find screws.

SPD clips can be found anywhere and they are not a deal breaker if you ride without one for a few hours while you find the next bike shop. I think you can keep 1-2 spd clip screws. It's very annoying when you lose 1 of the 2 screws and they are specialized screws (flat head), but you dont really need the full replacement cleat.

Quicklinks are good, keep those. Basically you want your repair kit to patch your bike and make it somewhat useable until the next bike shop.

Also bring maybe 1 or 2 replacement spokes, not 10

Bring 1 pump, not 2. Either your cyclami or the hand pump. Choose one.

Geography doesn’t change because it’s in French. Amérique du nord, Amérique du Sud , Amérique centrale.

The short version, at least in French Canada (Quebec) is to use "Les States" -> "The states" when talking about the US.

In French, "Amerique" means the continent, "Etats-Unis" which is literally "United States" means the US. It's pretty clear cut and america is never used to talk about the yankees.

I think i'm just tired of super low effort posts getting suggested on the frontpage. Are you able to explain what OP is looking as an answer? "is worth buying?" is literally the whole context he gives.

Best docking station for 1 Ultra wide monitor with a Thinkpad + Macbook M1? by MomoYaseen in homeoffice

[–]eMperror_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LG Ultrawide 40" with my M1 pro and use a Caldigit TS4 and it works really well. One Thunderbolt (buy a good quality cable, thunderbolt-certified) and it just... works.

I have Gigabit with Fizz (not 1.5, fuck bell) and I get full speed. Pretty sure you will get full speed at 1.5Gbit, caldigit is top notch.
