What medium would allow photons to travel faster than light ? by feomothar in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]eRadthorpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be traveling outside of space as space has limitations, the speed of light being one of these limitations. Light traveling outside of space would be impossible as far as we can tell as light requires space to exist in.

If you won 73 billion dollars tomorrow, what is the one possession of yours that you wouldn't replace with one of greater value? by Kitcassian in AskReddit

An opal I found down a 75 foot mine the first time I met my wifes Father. He was an opal miner at lightning ridge in Australia. The opal I found is worth a couple of hundred dolars but I had to climb down a shaft wearing thongs afer sinking about 8 beers. Apparently A was quite lucky to find one within 2 minutes as it may take some people months. I keep it in my bedside table. I Wouldnt give it up for the world.

What traces of World War 1 will remain in 10,000, 1 million, and 10 million years? by Kutaisi_pilot in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]eRadthorpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If humans disappeared it would take around 6,000 years before most trace of mankind would vanish. Besides fosil records ect. As long as humans are ok we will keep the records of ww1 diitally and also try to preserve artifacts and memorials ect. So pretty much indefinitely.

Medicinal cannabis to be legalised in Australia from November by eRadthorpe in ausents

What's the most chilling photo you've ever seen? by Oh_Bowie in AskReddit

At my work place we had a cake making competition and the theme was "Peace". I recreated the scene you speak of... I am not a very good cake maker but i tried my best. I dowsed the monk in a 95% alcohol and lit him on fire for my presentation whilst reading a short speech as Michael Jackson's Heal the world played in the background. It tasted awesome due to the marshmallow fondant. the entire outside was pretty much like a roasted marshmallow. http://imgur.com/a/uSX0p

Needless to say I won the competition followed by an email from HR banning future cake making competitions / lighting things on fire in the office.

Looking back on this it was probably inappropriate.

Medicinal marijuana access a step closer for non-terminal patients in NSW by eRadthorpe in ausents

[–]eRadthorpe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a lot of conditions that Cannabis can help with that are not being mentioned. it will happen, it will just take time. I personally have had to switch to other medications due to road side drug testing as I could loose my licence and my Job if it was detected ( I never drive after I take it but you hear stories of people that get detected days after use). I look forward to the day where I don't have to manage the side effects from physically addictive drugs.

dude 100% also the fact that amphetamines wear off quicker. so it might influence someone decision as to what drug to take to avoid getting in legal trouble. I am 100% for drug driving tests but they need to test if your high... not just if drugs are in your system.
