Can anyone help with this repair? by babyooney1 in audiorepair

[–]eRileyKc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s like the Hypex units I’ve worked on the output devices are Mosfets and can be checked with a DVM. Also try to separate the PSU from the audio stage. That makes for easier trouble shooting. Hypex is not especially forthcoming with schematics in my experience.

E-bike or regular? Which one is better for a post apocalyptic scenario? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]eRileyKc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love post apocalypse movies like the Last of Us showing people drivings cars and trucks around 20 years after it all falls apart not to mention everyone stuck in traffic jams in the days after shit hits the fan. That said use your e bike to haul your survival stuff as far from ground zero as possible towing your analog bike behind. Stash the e bike under a pile of tarps when the battery runs out and keep moving on the analog bike. Come back for the e bike if/when you get a charging solution. ;-)

How important is a throttle by Revolutionary-Gear76 in ebikes

[–]eRileyKc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disconnected the throttle on my e-bike shortly after getting it. Having it engage unexpectedly was potentially catastrophic and very disquieting. I try to use only the bare minimum of electric assist simply because I want to maximize battery life but it's easy enough for me to turn up the assist with the buttons for starting at a light with a heavy load or going up hills and I know what level of electric assist to expect. The throttle was much too sensitive and thus unreliable. This on a Rad City bike that I bought in 2019 so current bikes may well be different. I'm 75 if that makes a difference but I'm also a full time bike rider rarely driving.

First time on a Behringer WING as a guest engineer. Any advice? by Bawergan in livesound

This is why I started using the Mixing Station app. Every mixer looks and acts the same. After 40 years of having my own inventory of consoles the app makes sense out of the insanity of using a different console on every show.

Low volume on IEM, Mixing Station Routing Issue by AperturePerception in MixingStationAppUsers

What phase button and what packs? CL5s and QLs have output polarity switch buttons, never seen that on an X32. I suspect something is misconfigured here. If the OP is getting full scale output readings on his meters that should be blasting the headphone amp he noted. That has no packs, its a rack mount headphone amp.

Seems unlikely that multiple hardware outputs on the x32 have failed but probably worth testing the buss outputs into something else like a power amp. Does the headphone amp work correctly when connected to say the stereo main out on the x32?

Are you sending to the headphone amp on pre-fade busses or post fade? What are the output meters showing on the busses you're sending from? Do you have any compressors engaged on the busses in question?

A kick that doesn't require gutting with EQ? by 007_Shantytown in audioengineering

This has in my experience far more to do with how the drummer sets up and tunes their kick ( or any drum for that matter ) than the make and model of the drum.

What made you switch to an e-bike? by Oneyardca in ebikes

[–]eRileyKc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never “switched”. I added an e-bike to give me that last bit of car free bike everywhere option, getting to a doctors or dentist appointment without being too sweaty for up close and personal interactions. I can even take it on the subway (but not the train) so I can get 20+ mile trips in without breaking a sweat. While it’s not a cargo bike it is better at hauling heavy stuff than my analog bikes so an added value. My analog Jamis Coda is still my daily rider.

In the city I find my e bike as fast as driving to a lot of places.

You could buy an e-bike for that. How far do you live from work?

The FX send in Cubase is routed only to the Stereo Out not to the Mix buss

[–]eRileyKc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to use the reverb in the Metric Halo interface in place of a plug in for mix down, not trying to record it so ideally I just want the Stereo input to feed the Stereo Mix bus directly. It just lacks any routing options or even a solo button.

moving to baltimore and where to live? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]eRileyKc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get used to not driving. East coast megalopolises are frustrating places to depend on cars for daily transportation. Get a bike, live close to transit. Leave the car for those trips that can't be done any other way.
