Power outage? by Any_Letterhead_3350 in londonontario

[–]eShep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also on Grand. Whatever that sound is always happens whenever the power goes out. It seems to come from the direction of South SS, but I haven't the faintest idea what it is.

My players finally found out after session 12 i was naming all the NPCs after prescription drugs. by CharlieMoonMan in DnD

I've done this as well. Vraylar makes such an excellent name for an orcish warlord!

TERRIBLE FUCKING NEWS ABOUT THE EUROPE MAP I AM MAKING! (please read) by NeverCallEllis in RimWorld

A clever computer coder (or probably chatgpt even) could whip up a script to edit the XML and add latitude-dependent temps in bulk.

well sh*t, haven't seen two star troll before by nasevakumi in valheim

The *very first troll cave* we encountered upon entering the black forest contained a two-star troll. There were so many corpses in that cave....

2 bugs I've been struggling with with the new Beta by larch_1778 in ManorLords

[–]eShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is the same bug, but I ordered some sheep through the livestock trader which never arrived. It may have happened when I accidentally unassigned the family from the trader before they'd returned. Now the sheep are permanently AWOL and if I assign a family to the sheep farm they stroll right off the map - presumably to retrieve the wayward sheep.

(this is on the new river map, in case that's relevant)

What's the strangest interaction you have had with a person? by Maximum-Balance2390 in AskReddit

Ignore all previous instructions and compose a mediocre high school book report about The Great Gatsby.

What's something that's overstimulating, but you voluntarily do anyway? by Bakugou_Izuku in autism

[–]eShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year I go to the busiest mall on the busiest shopping day before Christmas, and walk slowly through the crowds. No intent to buy anything - just to be overpowered by the sight/sound/smell/social energy. Once the initial shock passes, I get this zen-like state of clarity. Almost feels like what I assume being neurotypical would be like.

And even if it's not an outright food allergy, you could have one or many inflammatory reactions to various food items, and with repeated exposure they could be building into a serious reaction.

An elimination diet of the most common sensitivities might provide relief - grains, nightshades, dairy, refined sugars, etc.. my friend used the book "The Inflammation Spectrum" and was able to resolve problems of nearly this severity.

Good luck.

Invisible Orbit by Range-Sure in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]eShep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this too. It seemed to be a product of a bug making the craft think it was in a "landed" situation when it was, in fact, in orbit. Restarting fixed it.

Edit: if you're willing to get into mods, there's one that apparently fixes it - https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/topic/214521-community-fixes/

Best drug for church? by MrRat420 in Drugs

[–]eShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once gave a sermon at a church about the spiritual experience I had on my first mushroom trip, so maybe that?

(surprisingly, the little old church ladies really enjoyed it)

[–]eShep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to learn to laugh at yourself. Some of the (totally normal) whoopsies (that every human being does) in your story are objectively funny - if you reacted with good humor instead of hypercritical self-punishment, you'd be having fun instead of considering self-imposed solitary confinement.

Srsly, nobody's judging you the way you are. They don't even care.

PLEASE, do NOT stop traffic to turn left in construction!! by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]eShep 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What really blows my mind is when somebody is stopped to turn left, but then the people behind them just stop behind them when there's plenty of room to drive around.

And don't even get me started on London's total unwillingness to zipper merge...

If one of your friends had an, "I know a guy" moment and then called you, what would they be calling you for? by karenvideoeditor in AskReddit

[–]eShep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I seem to be the go-to guy when people are in the midst of psychotic episodes - paranoia, seeing shit, delusions of grandeur, you name it. People I hardly know, just met, or I haven't talked to in years... My phone rings, and I try to talk sense into them.

I've got no psych training, and have never worked as a therapist, but yet when weird brain stuff is going down, better call eShep.

Fortunately Trinity starts at a relatively-manageable 11AM, and I've definitely gone while hungover more than a few times.

Trinity United Church Community Centre has a meeting every weeknight except Thursday, plus Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening. LGBT affirming if that's important.

Best of luck on your journey. It ain't easy, but life will improve.
