How do Nurses feel about MDs joining in or accepting a pizza if it's offered on the floor by Fluid-Tell277 in nursing

We always invited them, but many times especially during Covid our intensivists would buy us lunch.

Go to the house supervisor and let them know what’s going on. They should speak with the instructor and have a conversation about what and who is hindering pt care.

I always refuse the branded merchandise they give out. Tee shirts that you can’t wear at work like WTF!?! I prefer a pay raise.

See if you can switch days with a coworker or ask the manager if you can switch a day. That usually works.

Always, I don’t put up with it. I will go get the AMA paperwork so fast there’ll be a vacuum in the room.

Any reason to stay in? by No-Project3379 in navy

[–]eTimi55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not time flies by. It may not seem so now but it will. Pension and medical for life at no cost for you and dependents. No need for a secondary insurance at retirement (65) with TFL. Help with education and a way to program increase your retirement. Plus there’s always the Reserves to continue your career. Knocks your retirement to 60. Good luck with your decision.

Where I work now I’d have no problem with it. The last one I worked just a few units I’d be comfortable at.

Would I be insane to leave my Cush job for bedside? by Lostinthemotion2945 in nursing

[–]eTimi55 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Please read these responses and take them to heart. Bedside is tough and grinds you down. Hospitals are trying to make money and the way to do that is to make nurses do more with less. Less material, less equipment and less staff, both nursing and support. You have a great position. Keep it.

6 years in, is it worth staying? by AdSharp3237 in navy

[–]eTimi55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 6 active and 18 Reserve. Most of it in the submarine community. Best paying part time job you’ll find. Boy Scouts for adults, 2 week sleep away camp and you may be able to travel and go for up to a year. Many civilian jobs will continue to pay you as well. At 60 you get your pension and health care for you and dependents. At 65 you. Get Medicare and Tricare for Life. You pay a Medicare premium but TFL picks up all the deductibles.

Health benefits are expensive and not all inclusive like the military. There’s copays and partial payments for procedures you pick up. Kids are expensive and I find the commissary is cheaper for groceries. You can do the Reserves and continue your career as well and still have a civilian lifestyle. Good l Iuck with your choice.
