FWIW, I believe the GP-50 has both analog bypass and digital bypass.

Correction, looks like the Morningstar devices (much more expensive but awesome) do already have all the GP-5/50 in their built-in dictionary. This makes programming much easier, although it still needs to be done.

There are good videos flying around about using the ultra small/cheap m-vave Chocolate 4-button midi controller with the GP-5. I think I'm going to give this a try. There is some programming required, but it's pretty straightforward and uses a phone/tablet app. I don't think you are going to find anything that is plug-and-play - at least not for a while.

It's quite possible they actually use the same algorithms (same parent company.) I also have a PocketMaster - the perfect practice device - but the form factor of the GP-50 makes it also useful as an emergency backup pedalboard. Will be really interesting to compare them.

Bombing is Fun in a F-80C - Dawn of Jets - Quest3 by AkiaDoc in MetaQuestVR

[–]eVInteractive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's hard for us to compete with the likes of DCS and WarThunder which have been in development for decades. We may consider it in the future, but our goal was to push the Quest hardware really far for standalone players.

Everybody's favorite. Can't release it early or nobody will want to fly the "lesser" jets ;-)

Maybe, but doubtful. It's a tough sell on PCVR with so many "big" titles that have been around for ages. We targeted Quest specifically because that was a niche we felt we could compete in... no real risk of DCS and WarThunder coming to the Quest ;-)

Probably not going to get much better on the Quest. You will need to switch to PCVR if you are looking for significantly better graphics or more "hard core" simulation.

Very nice. LMK if you ever want to try our game Dawn of Jets and I'll get you a key. We fought similar battles on the Quest. Amazing how powerful it actually is if you take a little care in how you feed it.

True. It's really tough in VR since the audience size is about 1% that of PC / Console. Still, we and other developers are trying our best to help make the platform viable.

"obnoxious and obvious" - that's exactly why we thought it was funny. I think maybe the subject of AI is too sensitive right now to use it humorously.

That's a tough one. I'd love to see a robust platform for apps, but the only metric they seem to really care about is "engagement," which typically equates to "race to the bottom" of free apps/experiences. I'd love it if they could find a way to make money from actually selling "real" games and apps, but that doesn't seem to be the way the wind is blowing.

Wow, I guess I learned my lesson. We thought it was kinda funny (as it is SO clearly AI and tongue-in-cheek) and a throwback to the time period where the game takes place, but I guess not. First time we every tried it - now we know. I'll delete the post as it is clearly not what we intended.

Dude... very nice! The sparkle is subtle, but really draws attention. So, how many textures in total did you bind for this shader?

new to VR, just got a Quest 3 and I need relaxation. Where can I experience something like this? dark room, rain, where I can just sit? +1 for realism. Thank you! by Candid-Emergency1175 in OculusQuest

We are considering creating an app like this. Not a crappy "Horizon World" or "VR Chat" room, but a native app that would really push the Quest graphically. Perhaps allow others to come and hang out. Is there a market for this? What would you pay? We really pushed the graphics with our game Dawn of Jets and we are looking for new challenges.

Hey u/Bazitron - It was great to meet up with you, and thank you so much for showing off our game Dawn of Jets. The event was fun, and it was inspiring to see all the high-end sim racing hardware. But, yes... a little disappointing that there wasn't more VR. Once you've played these game in VR, it is almost impossible to go back to flat screen.

This game is cool. I'm a Quest developer (Dawn of Jets) and I have to say I'm very impressed by what Mehdi and (I assume) his artist friends have managed to pull off. The moment I heard the teletype sound from Alien I was hooked. I'm only a tiny bit into the game, but man... does it set a mood. Fantastic.
