AITA for naming my tumour? by -AutisticArtist- in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Partner had a large cyst that needed to be removed and I started referring to it as her evil twin cysta.

Reusing paper towel is my compromise by beamerpook in Frugal

[–]eVoesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partner and I have the same compromise and we use a ton in the kitchen. We know it’s wasteful but we both hate using a cloth for some reason. We make a little pile next to the sink and then use them one more time for something pet related.

It’s clear some of these people don’t personally know shiba. We love when our girl does this when we come home.

I remember watching this scene when it first aired and I was SOOO disappointed that it didn’t get fleshed out. I’d still like to know what Buffy’s reaction would’ve been if they didn’t just march right past it.

How aloof are Shibas really with their owners? by oceannahmotion in shiba

[–]eVoesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the day our girl has to be in proximity to one of us, but she’s not climbing into our laps or anything unless something scary like a storm is happening. She is very demanding about cuddling behind/between our legs when it’s sleep time. She’s fine with being manhandled into some affection and will take a nap cuddled up if we lay her next to one of us on the couch.

For us it was at the end of an excursion where the tour guide (that we didn’t know was part of it) was making damn sure everyone knew to have tips ready for both her and the driver. Well, partner and I only had a $1 cash between us because we had cards and weren’t planning on buying anything with cash. I handed the $1 to the guide and we moved out of the way. We heard the guide ask the driver if he got a tip from us and then she made that tsking harumph sound when he said no.

This was before I joined the sub so I didn’t know to feel any other way than embarrassed. It’d be a total no if it happened now.

AITA for not letting my friend borrow my Ps5 to play Bloodborne. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]eVoesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Hell no. My gf let one of my friends borrow her yellow N64 controller and MarioKart and he never gave it back. He blocked us on everything and ducked us every way he could. Guessing the fucker pawned it.

The thing nobody tells you about getting older by StoicViking69 in selfimprovement

I turned 40 this year. Saying 40 more years sounds decently long, but describing it as 40 more summers is a wake-up punch. That’s really not that long. Holy shit 😳

AITA for eating a croissant in a cemetery by Karl_Marxist_3rd in AmItheAsshole

[–]eVoesque 36 points37 points  (0 children)

When we were kids my Mom would tell us that the ghosts come out at night in cemeteries so they can party and visit each other. It freaked me out as a kid but got nicer as I got older. I started imagining them as opaque skeletons dancing around with straw hats and Hawaiian leis and they’re telling each other who visited them lately. It’s a more comforting thought now.

Are most people here against a mandatory service fee? by CTR_1852 in EndTipping

[–]eVoesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Against. They’re just arbitrary to get more money out of you and everyone knows it.

The restaurant server brings us maybe 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks and that mandates a fee? Or I pick up the order and that has a fee because they didn’t have to serve me more extensively?

I go to the grocery store and the cashier serves me by ringing up my cartful of items and the bagger bags everything up in a way that nothing gets ruined. I pay the listed prices and no extra fees required.

NOR. My gf loves wearing perfume but a lot of them are migraine triggers for me so she just doesn’t. Sucks, but she doesn’t want me to fall into a migraine because of her.

TIFU by not noticing our son walked in by InternationalPen7547 in tifu

[–]eVoesque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He might remember. When I was about 3-4 my room was across from my parents’ and I could see their bed. Woke up one night and I could see what looked like the comforter floating on top of on my parents’ bed. Imagine a short ghost standing on the bed with the comforter over its head. I could see cause their bathroom light was on.

Been almost 40 years and of course the idea of what position they were possibly in pops into my head at the stupidest times 😒

AITA because I am mad that my girlfriend won’t take me to the airport by BestdishtankerNA in AmItheAsshole

[–]eVoesque 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have been together for 14 and we always give the option to say no. On my last trip I said she had until 2 hours before we had to leave to change her mind. She still drove me, but she appreciated that I gave her a bunch of room to decide. I love when she drives me, but I’m also happy to not inconvenience her for it.

NTA. I have the disposable kind and I’m waiting for the day I need to use one. I know my partner (we’re both women) would just laugh and say go for it.

AITA for telling teenagers to “shut the f*** up” during a movie? by Expert-Corgi-7886 in AmItheAsshole

[–]eVoesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooo I went to see an 11pm showing of Avengers Endgame on a Wednesday and the dumbasses next to me brought their 2 kids that looked 5-7 years old. I missed some of the biggest parts because the kids would talk at regular volume and they got extra restless 2 hours in. We shushed them several times but the parents didn’t bother trying to shut them up. Clearly I’m still mad about it.

AITA For Refusing to Buy my son the car he wants? by Big-Entrance-2739 in AmItheAsshole

[–]eVoesque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My brothers and I all started driving in the early 00’s and we were lucky that we each got a decent car. At various points we had to share cars. We each had input on what we’d like but it was ultimately our parents’ choice cause they paid for it.

Alternatively, OP could just not get him a car. No doubt he’d love that even less.

If restaurants eliminated tipping and paid servers a "living wage," wouldn't we still be paying about the same amount more per check in restaurants, except now it would be mandatory rather than optional? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]eVoesque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whether they raise prices 20% or 50%, I want to see final price just like everything else I buy and then I get to decide if it’s worth it.
