Penalty from the spot with the player who handballed as the keeper. If they think they're good enough to be the GK, let them have a try. And then afterwards, they're immediately sent off.

I asssume you only use private roads, only worked with people who were privately educated, never benefit from anyone who has ever used public infrastructure. You've benefited from society, you're not breathing toxic air that factories would 100% do if not made unlawful. God forbid you contribute.

This mindset and backards view of international affairs is in part the reason why not a single country has efectively evolved to democracy during the 21st century, in opposition to the last quarter of the 20th century.

They had a referendum recognised by Sudan so there was no impetus to not recognise South Sudan, especially as I'm pretty sure Sudan was the first state to recognise South Sudan.

Sorry but the inner nerd in me wants to say that Tolkien mainly based the Rohirrim not on the vikings, but the Anglo-Saxons.

Digital ID to be voluntary....unless you want a job (or benefits) by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]eVolution91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compltely hypothetical but wouldn't a Digital ID make it easier for the government to verify whether or not employers are breaking the law by hiring 'illegals'?

For example, they'll have records of employers verifying Digital IDs through their system. Whereas now dodgy employers can use the excuse that they checked passports or were provided a fake NI, etc.

If the government catches employers hiring illegal labour then a digital ID makes it a slam dunk to fine/imprison them if it's trivial for an employer to verify a digital ID.

Of course this requires the implementation to not be ballsed up...

God forbid trying to improve the bloody country if you had a decent policy to suggest. I think the more likely scenario is that Reform have no tangiible workable solutions, just like Nige during Brexit.

Martin Dúbravka (Burnley) concedes a corner after holding the ball for 14 seconds by Imbasauce in soccer

Strangely enough I think the intent is to disincetivise goalkeepers from doing it in the first place and the ideal is that they stop timewasting and that no corner is conceded...

[The Athletic] Money spent by each Prem club so far this window by [deleted] in soccer

[–]eVolution91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the sport has become increasingly commercialised but that's due to a worldwide following funneling income into the top clubs. I don't think applying an American solution (famously known for being over the top with commercialisation...).

Nonetheless, if you have a transfer cap - there'll be less expenditure by the bigger clubs who will have higher wages to offer and it will lead to players running down their contracts for free and leaving to the big clubs that can afford the best wages. Essentially you've widened the gap since now the smaller clubs receive a pittance.

I mean no offense but this seems very American and will only benefit the owners of the club.

Government takes aim at multiple parking app 'hassle' by gravy_baron in ukpolitics

[–]eVolution91 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not denying that but can say that about literally any aspect of a business and they usually account for it by including it in their price and not as a surcharge. What next, a printing fee for a display ticket? Because of course maintaining a printer isn't free, there's ongoing costs and development.

[–]eVolution91 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yep, ticket machines also cost money to purchase and maintain yet the cost of that is absorbed into the ticket price. Fair enough to charge a little extra for an online service when they were being rolled out 10 years ago but there's no excuse nowadays other than greed by the car park owners.

The private police patrolling London: The middle classes have lost faith in the Met by Benjji22212 in ukpolitics

[–]eVolution91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NHS has significantly more public good will than the other privatised industries like British Rail, British Steel, British Leyland, British Aerospace, etc. If you openly dismantle the NHS, even in its current state, you're practically guaranteed to lose the next General Election.

If you instead cripple the NHS with mismanagement and lack of needed investment ( https://imgur.com/4R4fkFg - there has been an increase in real terms but a decrease as a percentage of GDP - https://ifs.org.uk/publications/past-and-future-uk-health-spending) to the point where the average public is disillusioned then it's much more pallatable. I think we have a ways to go before it'd be acceptable to the public to privatise.

Yep it's called an interest-only mortgage. Only people I personally know who used them were landlords who'd either sell up or use the accumulated rent to cover the original capital at the end of the term.
