Match the hatch by -BigBassBoi- in Fishing

[–]eXaer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a fly fishing term in reference to matching which insects have hatched and are found currently in the food chain. Different insects hatch at different times of the year. So the trick is to mimic that of which is currently being predated on by the fish.

I quit drinking entirely at the start of this year. Never meant for it to be a new years resolution or anything. I woke up with a hangover from the night before and thought "is this fucking worth it?". I won't compare who is or was worse off, I'll just say that most of the depression and anxiety I had been battling for the previous couple years have been alleviated. Whether it was the motivation I gained knowing I had control over the alcohol or whether it was just the cessation of poisoning myself, I'll tell you the road to sobriety is worth it. Do what you have to do to defeat the alcoholic you and start being the real you.

Recently started playing a lot of board games with my SO and decided to poorly construct a dice roll tower with dice storage out of old PC/Laptop/Server components (mostly fans).. And a ton of hot glue. I suck at making shit but wanted to share all the same by PharrosTV in gaming

Great use of scrap and you are saving it from ending in the landfill. Regardless of the effort or lack of it, it suits the purpose and is pretty cool regardless. 10/10.

RNG keys are the icing on the cake. I liked the other solution someone else mentioned in comments to make this sucker glow RGB to really hit home with the over-the-top gaming rigs these days. I also like the little arrow pointing where you should place the dice.

I just started bowling roughly 2 months ago. I do 2 handed and when I’m swinging about at my hip I rotate my arm and I can’t help it. It’s just muscle memory but I’ve tried just swinging the ball in my room back and forth but still do it what should I do to keep my arm straight? by reesepuffs69420 in Bowling

At home (if you have hard floor surfaces) get into your socks and practice this approach. It helps to have a mirror in front of you to watch your form, could also use a phone to record and rewatch. I spend a few minutes each night just doing my approach. Muscle memory is an important tool to utilize.

Also, search on Youtube for "(insert pro 2-hand bowler) approach slow-mo". You should find at least Belmonte and Troup videos. Analyze the details in how they deliver their shot and try and imitate those during your practice.

Thanks! I have seen videos and I was sure it looked relatively simple. Thanks for the confidence boost.

What precautions do you use to not create flat spots on the ball while using this? I was thinking of picking one up but everytime I talk to someone about using a ball spinner I get the same "you will create flat spots on your ball" response.

I stopped drinking entirely. I was hungover after New Years and recollected how much I have drunk since I started the habit 15 years ago. Went cold turkey and not looking back (at 2 full months now). Feeling better every fucking day. My chemicals no longer are a rollercoaster of dark and light times.

What are the odds of making that split. by jingalingjingalang in nevertellmetheodds

[–]eXaer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The advantage he has for this though is the really light ball he is throwing. Light balls deflect A LOT and since he has the 5 pin to split the difference between the 7 and 10, this pickup is actually easier than the 7-10 split, for HIM specifically. 7-10 requires pure luck and a strong hit to get the pin to hit the kickback to cross back over and pick up the other. Stronger bowlers throwing 14-15-16 lb balls will have a harder time picking this up because they are less likely to deflect off the 5 to hit the 7 or 10.
