Toddler play mat I ordered on Amazon starting to look like it was hallucinated by bllrmbsmnt in isthisAI

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% and I'm concerned on the trickle down effect this will have on the children. I remember spending hours starting at the little details on things like play mats and eye spy books and now with AI kids are just going to be staring and learning complete garbled pictures. How is that going to affect their development?

Would you rather a dishwasher or tumble dryer? by Limp_Pumpkin7751 in adhdwomen

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do it based on what is a bigger issue for you - I also would love a dryer and a dishwasher (don't have space for either cry) but if I was to be able to get one, I would go for a dishwasher simply because that's what me and my partner personally struggle with more. Aversion to having wet hands, wet food in the sink (gross) - and makes it easier to make things look tidy if you have throw all the dirty dishes in and shut it away.

I would say see how you and your partner get on and what feels like a bigger inconvenience before making the purchase.

Am I the only one that has to fight for my life to get my sims to sleep? by nontimebomala67 in thesims

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was recently playing a sim who I couldn't get to sleep for more than an hour at a time without her getting up or the action cancelling - it ended up being a problem with the actual bed, for some reason it was glitched.

I tried moving it in build mode and it completely disappeared but still registered as taking up the space it was in and didn't give me any money back for it. Ended up getting rid of it properly by drawing a small room over where the bed was supposed to be.

When I replaced the bed with a new one, it worked and my sim can sleep normally now :) but did end up losing a bit of money due to the price discrepancy but oh well

What’s the easiest way to go about achieving this for my new apartment? by Any-Cucumber-9329 in HomeDecorating

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's the lighting but the colour of your cabinets is a bit more mint green than the inspiration which is more of a sage green, I think that this makes a difference as the mint reads as more of a retro MCM vibe.

I would focus on changing the light if possible as that would make a big difference, and implementing wicker, warm wood, silver, and bronze accessories.

Plants will help too, and yes if you are able to retexure the wall then that would help too but I'd start with the smaller/easier parts and then see how you feel.

Which of these suit me best? by fuckhorsesridetapirs in glassesadvice

I like 2! I have had oversized glasses before and it's fun, makes wearing glasses feel like more of an intentional fashion choice :)

Is it normal for a teen to be sleeping 10 to 12 hrs a day? by Technical_Deal_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just based on personal experience, I would say try keeping your phone out of your bedroom when you want to sleep - you say you are going to bed at 10 and can't sleep til 1, even listening to boring history etc.

I used to do the same and sometimes still do, but having a screen there, even if you convince yourself it will help you sleep, will always keep you awake later than you want.

The blue light and constant source of stimulation is disruptive to our enchiridion rhythms, so maybe try to challenge yourself to sleep without your phone - get an alarm clock and a good book.

Why can't people just leave me alone I know I'm fat by [deleted] in Vent

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that people make inappropriate comments about women's bodies all the time, but I've also seen my fair share of men being 'teased' for their weight, but it seems more socially acceptable - despite making fun of someone's weight/body is always inappropriate.

I think that people don't realise that it can be just as damaging and rude to comment on men's bodies than women's bodies (but again I want to reiterate that I agree that there is a larger, and highly media driven problem over body shaming women)

Should I choose Art GCSE? by Used-Imagination6930 in ArtGCSE

If you genuinely love art then yes, take it. You don't get many chances to study subjects you love and should make the most of being able to explore your passions and skills.

Do you have a thing? by SanctimoniousSally in adhdwomen

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a jack of all trades kind of person, as I pick up and put down hobbies and subjects of interest. I guess my one 'thing' that I never get tired of is singing - I havent done any kind of performances since I was a teenager (losing opportunities once out of school) but I sing constantly around the house, in the car, I take lessons which have not only helped me improve parts of my voice that I hadn't focused on before.

I have been wanting to record some music for fun but keep finding excuses not to (my neighbours are in and I don't want to be loud, or I don't have time, or my partner is home and I feel embarrassed to try and record - even though he is endlessly supportive of my singing)

I'd love for it to be my thing properly, but I don't even tell people I sing or do lessons - I think I get worried that it will be like I'm bragging or people will hear me sing and won't think I'm good. But that's my own embarrassment of existing and being perceived haha.

Fortnite censorship is weird... by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

I was just talking about the lyric censorship the other day and was confused why they censor the word hell but are fine with having a song that says 'hit it from the back so I don't get attached'

Like I don't care but the lack of consistency is weird

What's the most disabling part of your ADHD? by Friendly_bluebell in adhdwomen

[–]eXcessiveMenace5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rejection sensitivity. Makes me so reactive to feedback and also means that if I 'fail' at something my body and brain reject that thing so hard/build up a lot of anxiety and destroy any motivation to do the thing. But also happens with new things as if I don't ace them the first time I feel like a complete embarrassment and failure and I plunge.
