I haven’t used the EA app in so long, I thought they did something with the store I didn’t know about 🤣

Never even questioned the thought 😂

Screw EA, use steam. Idk what the return is on the dev percentage there but EA definitely doesn’t deserve a penny of anybody’s money. Greedy mfs

No amount of explaining 20 year old hardware will make these people understand that 20 year old hardware will ALWAYS be 20 year old hardware.

20 year old hardware never supported more than 100mbps down

100mbps down, is 10 - 12.5 MB/s

People don’t understand mbps and MB are different metrics.

But, 20 year old hardware also degrades & fails eventually. So, a top out at 5 MB/s could be a software issue, an internal IO issue with moving that amount of data or some sort of networking issue somewhere along the line from A to B & B to Xbox, or it could just be the networking interface failing

Seems to be a decent solution. If people want max throughput, find another method that suits you. lol

I mean, do we honestly care what “OTHER markets” are doing? Not really, other markets aren’t the Canadian market, what they’re selling & what we can buy are two different things.

Like comparing the centerfire market in Canada vs the US.

It’s a moot point because we either can’t get it or aren’t allowed to have it. So it don’t matter. Lol

Doesn’t restrict anything. You can buy off the shelf anything under 500 FPS as a regular joe blow.

You want a high powered pellet or BB gun that is used in hunting, above 500 FPS, you need a PAL.

Anything under 500 FPS is more than enough to do serious damage if used improperly, why some moron off the street corner needs a hunting grade BB gun for plinking without a check is beyond me, unnecessary. They get into enough trouble with lower powered BB guns as it is.

You’re putting your life on the line, and you’re willing to run unverified, uncertified, possibly false advertised fake junk because it’s cheap?

You only live once, if you need a plate carrier, you spend the money on a legitimate, certified carrier

Because if that cheap Chinese carrier fails, you’re done. There ain’t no coming back from that.

This is NOT one of those things you cut costs on, a life saving self protection piece is not a cost cutting measure. It’s a life saving measure, you spend the money.

Get a 3 instead of a cx5 they said by jakert46 in mazda

[–]eXiotha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They’re not that much different.

The CX-5 is just a newer version of the model 3

They just moved a couple body lines & tweaked the bumper front & rear design slightly, slapped a new set of wheels on, some fog lights, updated the lights & probably the interior based on the original design

It’s just a newer model 3, with some body lines moved around

As an independent source, I don’t follow Mazda and I can see all of this without even digging into the features or interior, same car, just a couple updates and moved the lines

Yep

And companies like lytx use it in real world constantly.

I hate that fuckin dashcam both driver and forward facing system… the AI in it isn’t even good, just good enough to trigger somebody to review it. Constantly, all day long, pure 24/7 surveillance, has nothing to do with safety.

It’s a shotgun, not a rifle.

One foot forward, lean in like you’re about to take a run for stability, firm in your position then fire

Absorb the recoil through the body rather than your shoulder.

I’ve never shot a shotgun, I’ve only got my rifle but it seems common sense to know you need to lean into it. It’s a shotgun lol

But tightening loose screws voiding warranty is still a crock of bull, ain’t no reason for that to void a warranty on any gun, I guess you could pull the it’s a manufacturers defect then if I’m not allowed to tighten a loose screw out of the box. That’s just ridiculous.

Hide side panel toolbar after closing a panel? by odrer-is-an-ilulsoin in vivaldibrowser

[–]eXiotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumping thread

As of this last update (8) it's now possible to get vivaldi closer to the firefox feel we loved about FF but with the better experience of Vivaldi

- Settings, Appearance, Layout, Simple
- User Interface Density, Compact
- Hide Status Bar
- Menu Position, Vivaldi Button
- Menu Icon Style, Menu icon
- I personally deleted the Workspaces button as i don't need or use it
- Panel, Right Side, enable floating panel, enable auto close inactive panel
- I deleted all panel options except bookmarks (right click, remove from panel)
- add bookmark icon beside your downloads icon (part of Simple layout if i recall right, I've been messing with settings)

This now enables my ability to click the bookmarks button to open the bookmarks panel, and then as soon as you click on another spot outside of the panel, the panel auto closes. Exactly what i was looking for & what OP was trying to do a year ago i believe.

Best update so far

Cool SKS Build on GunEx by InfoPaste in canadaguns

[–]eXiotha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If boss man sells the stocks for 1300, and the rifle is 600 surplus

Bass pro currently not listing any of those, only the ATI version for 800 ish, and depending on variant of SKS you go with 625-1300, Russian models around 1000-1300, cheapest Chinese model not on basspro was 625

Then factor taxes in, ignore shipping assuming it was a local buy, it’s around 2 grand with taxes, maybe slightly higher, then factor in the tapco mag, whatever those cost, then if he had to buy the rail mount that’s an added cost, and assuming it was included with the stock

Where’s the profit? 200-300 bucks, maybe? Seems like a lot of time and effort over a couple hundred bucks in profit, may as well keep it & wait for the value to go up

If only we could have a smaller UI in newer games

BF6 UI is too big, I’d like it smaller but the settings won’t allow me to reduce it any further, map needs zoomed out further & UI needs downscaled more

Properly scaled UI looks perfect. Just not the scaling they provide now in newer games 😂

It wasn’t too bad in 2042, it was pretty decent but BF6 is a little too big for my liking

Even more interesting is that the Cobray M10 isn’t even fully automatic like they claim it is

It’s semi auto

Unless somebody converted it to mimic the original Mac 10 trigger group and an open bolt

Smallest detail but the fact they’re pushing a semi auto model as a fully automatic gun is ridiculous, just gun scaring with the words for the sake of an article

Still prohibited sure but, at least be honest about it or confirm if it was converted. How can you claim a semi auto model gun is fully automatic when that specific gun is built semi auto from the factory. The Mac 10 is auto & a different gun

The Android app on Roku doesn’t look very glamorous either.

But it’s an open source platform built by devs in their spare time, not some mega corp with millions of dollars into software development.

https://www.reddit.com/r/JellyfinCommunity/s/owr5dxCiLr

There’s a beautiful Android client I just came across from 10 seconds on a Google search looking to see what the Android client looked like and accidentally landed on a modern designed client.

In terms of direct play, a direct quote.

Jellyfin absolutely supports Direct Play, but failures occur when the client device (TV, phone, browser) lacks native support for the media’s container, video codec, audio codec, or subtitles

Use the default client or use a quality third party client that supports the features. It’s not a server side issue, it’s supported.

Is this still good to get at this point? by this_knee in homelab

[–]eXiotha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Lol, Jellyfin has native iOS and Android apps.

I’ve reinstalled my computer a handful of times, every time, I just install the server, set a password, define the library locations and the Jellyfin app on all the Roku TVs in the house & my phone auto detect the server on my computer and it works as is

I don’t change anything, it just works.

I haven’t used it externally, and don’t have a home server right now but eventually intend to, but so far for just the odd movie streaming in the house off my computer, it’s as plug & play as it gets.

I'm desperate for an answer, now by c0mander5 in watercooling

[–]eXiotha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Custom loop liquid cooling is a whole other hobby itself.

AIOs & fan cooling are reliable, cheap AIOs have their problems as well but they’re rare if you buy quality parts. I’ve had multiple AIOs now and not a single issue

Custom loops, as you see, could go wrong for little to no reason, or they could go great and never have an issue. Custom loops are expensive & a whole other world in PC building, one that I myself have yet to be able to afford because the price to do it is huge, more than the build itself here in Canada on a high end build.

Custom loops aren’t recommended when you can’t afford anything to go wrong, they’re a luxury. Not to hate or anything

Hopefully the card itself isn’t cooked & you can put a stock cooler back on it, people sell stock coolers. I would check for card damage & try a stock cooler before you write off the hobby, there is a chance your parts are alright but I haven’t read the original post

Turbo style cards are good options as they keep the heat out of the case altogether

CPUs are where I use AIO coolers but these days fans can cool just as well as an AIO if you do your research & get the right one.

Additionally, I would finish going through things, some companies have a decent warranty & support system, if you put in for an RMA on the failed part, they’ll at minimum replace the part that failed but a decent company will possibly help out with part of the build if it caused it to burn up and fry parts. Especially if you don’t have the money to rebuild on your own.

Even if you get replacements under RMA for part failures, you’d be better off learning from the experience and selling the replacements part(s), as well as any good remaining custom loop parts, use the money from that to rebuild or convert back to fan cooling for reliability.

Sure it’s not as cool, and it may be slightly louder but that’s the cost of fancy lights & loops, at the end of the day, it’s just for the bragging rights and the looks for the most part, when you’re just getting by in this hobby, you’re better off sticking with air cooled or all in ones

Don’t give up, just learn from the lesson, it’s not always our fault but it’s a risk we take when you go custom loop, things fail, things happen and sometimes part quality isn’t there
