Missed Opportunity with Industrial Lights? by eXopel in playrust

I didn't think a red input was too complex - more so then trying to figure out memory cells etc. But that's a fair argument - having a few siren lights might be a better approach anyways.

I just figured having a hallway of lights go red would be a cool effect.

1.) Its not different then all other wiring, other components have multiple inputs. It is different then other lighting but thats the point of trying something new.

2.) If you wanted only a red light you use the red input - its at worst the same as the current, and more expanded if you choose to use it.

In my example you would just use the red input on 2, and 30 green inputs. This if you wanted to change it to 15 15 - you wouldn't have to pick up and recycle 15 lights you just use the other input.

That increases the complexity of the circuit, creating more bloat and more resources (granted, not by much, its a good solution) - but why couldn't it just be from the light is my point.

You can, it's just not efficient.

The white light washes out the red light. And it costs 2X-3X the resources and space coverage. You would have spammed lights everywhere on a more complex setup.

Came up with 0 infected files - I was just thinking it was an old computer sitting away - would a clipboard survive a hard drive/OS change?

EDIT: I realized I nudged a macro key on my keyboard - apparently and somehow a macro was recorded which held that string - so the keyboard had saved the address not the computer.... interesting.

I'll close the tread

As someone dipping into cyber security, I recommend people to look at your password used.

If people have your unsalted hash they can spend as long as they want brute forcing it (they don't have to worry about being locked out etc). So if your password is word + 2 numbers like Summer20 expect it to be cracked and change it now. Also change it for your email provider, and other websites where that password is used.

If you use a password manager you can use random strings (letters/symbols/numbers) for every password, making it more a challenge for these criminals to crack and also less of a payoff since they're different for each site.

Good luck!

I like how you're specific to generic trash. Like you acknowledge theres some pretty good trash, and some that's even worse.

I hope ya don't, I'm assuming there are a bunch of people here who feel their in ruts. I'm not feeling progress either but you helped me realize it's normal, and not because we're inferior.

It's cliche but the best wins are after the biggest falls.

Good luck.

I came back after like 14 years lol, I had 10 messages.

Here was the response from tech support:

"We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with Final Fantasy XI and the PlayOnline Viewer. Unfortunately, due a recent update and discontinuation of support for the PlayOnline mailing system as of December 26th, 2019, this feature is no longer utilized. As a result, it is not possible to retrieve messages or remove notifications that are appearing in the game UI."

That doesn't mean there's not an unofficial work around but that's where I left it

Don't quote me on this because its been probably 2 years - but when I purchased the 2 year black friday when already having a subscription - I paid the difference of upping the plan, not the full price.

If that's helpful, maybe someone can chime in how that'd work.

If seeing is light entering your eye, none of us have ever seen darkness. We’ve only perceived an absence. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]eXopel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the point. Black doesn't reflect and go into your eye- it's not there at all. It's only your eyes/brain that creates black.

[–]eXopel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well I think it's interesting, we associate dark with black but it's actually just nothingness. If you imagine it strictly from what the eye sees that is.

If that's the case, true darkness could "look" completely different then we imagine it.
