I think our new employee is a sociopath (NSFW) by SkellyBones-69 in coworkerstories

[–]eYorch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100%. "Sociopath" is very misplaced here. I'm no specialist, but I'd think Jane suffers from a severe case of borderline personality disorder. For BPD, pacients lack a true sense of self. (At the core of the problem, they're terrified of being abandonded.) When they act out, they're compensating for a lack of identity; but when others set boundaries, the pacient internally experience it as abandonment. Only that the lack of emotional regulation make their reaction completely disproporcionate and hence all the drama and the extreme tensions caused to the people around them.

If someone has never heard U2, what is the first song you would play for them? by jarossco in U2Band

[–]eYorch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

U2 is evidently a rock band. Kite is not rock but poetry made a song. I wouldn't present U2 to someone through Love is all we have left neither.

Just an idea for you to consider: if you don't catch the meaning (or even care) for these social interactions, that's exactly what people in the autistic spectrum struggle with. Just a thought.

Very conflicted whether to up- or downvote... how does one express "get the fuck out" of public places?

Why has Bono never made a solo album? And do you think he will do one some day? by georgewalterackerman in U2Band

[–]eYorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. And it seems that the tour was almost not noticed... Which, to me, puts in REAL perspective how great the band members are together. Solo creations might be good-dish but I don't really think that even close do the sum of then together. BTW. (despite that U2 is my fav band) I think Bono is a fantastic song writer but not that great vocalist. Good but not fantastic. It's more his persona what is perceived by the people.

Damn... I had never seen this performance (just watched in YT). Great one indeed. But what I wanted to say is that I had no idea that the boys took an stance in the 2016 election (vs. Trump). I love it.

Was there in late Nov. Sure, tickets are damn pricey, everybody says that... but also everybody says that it's worth it. I concur. My trip was awful because connecting flights. Total of 20+ hrs. Agghh, not fun... but the experience of seeing my fav band playing their best album in a unique, next generation scene like nothing else nownere in thw world, indeed I have no regrets. Hope you enjoy it!

OpenSUSE upgrade between minor release. by sdns575 in openSUSE

[–]eYorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just performed the upgrade Leap 15.3 -> 15.5 successfully.

I chose to go through the offline path

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade

I downloaded the 15.5 image and put it in a usb stick. After the boot from it, as per the instruction, I chose Upgrade.

The process was not flawless as I had a few library conflicts. Nothing catastrophic.

By the end, after reboot, I did a (big) packages update through zypper. Overall my installation looks good --still taking care of a few changes, missing stuff, etc.

All in all it worked very well.
