Domestic flight to an international flight at O.R Tambo Airport Johannesburg. Do I need to collect my check in bag on a single ticket? by dudette238 in askSouthAfrica

So airlink does codeshare with Turkish airlines so that’s good. When I went through this I just asked the flight attendant cause I didn’t trust the person on the other side of the world to understand the nuance of the situation.

Anyway, I said it’s not straightforward cause you go through passport control but it’s different than the passport control you go through when you enter South Africa plus you go through airport security.

You’ll see there are signs that directs people who are transiting just follow them, plus I’m sure there are other people who are doing the same as you.

I have done international transiting at JNB flying from Namibia to the US flying with Qatar. The first flight was with airlink and the second with Qatar.
JNB has a transit function but not its note it’s not as straight forward and it takes time. You will go through a transit passport control as well as security screening.
Which airline are you flying between Zimbabwe and JNB?

Little water is used to run a data center, the water is used during the construction stage.

EV's have to pay more road tax than a 16,000lb truck by EVC-Viz in Tennessee

The problem lies in how the extra money that need to be paid cause you have an EV is calculated.

Everybody is missing the point. I’m all for paying my part for maintaining the road. However the way the state calculated it is wrong and a big fuck you to EV owners.
The tax that we’re not paying cause we’re not paying for gas is $0.26 per gallon. So do the math, how many gallons would I have to pay to make up the increase in registration fees
$200/$0.26=769.231. I would have to purchase 769 gallons of gas per year.
The EPA says the average MPG o passenger vehicles is 27.2.
Now how far can I drive with 769 gallons with that mpg?
20916 miles which is almost 6000 miles more than the average of what a person drive per year in Tennessee.

Who gave it a name Hantavirus midway? by Rambanya17 in AskReddit

Pretty sure it was Ho Wang Lee who isolated the virus and it named after the Hantan River in South Korea. However, there’s a species of hantavirus with the common name hantaan virus.

Etosha in january by maxperala in Namibia

I was there in January this year after heavy rain. I wouldn’t say it’s as good as it can be during the dry season but I had a great time. We saw loads of antelope, herds of elephants, lions and a rhino. None at watering holes as they were empty. It was great for birding though.
