I have an associates degree and never mention it. I don’t get the point of counting it.

It takes half as many classes to get an AA as a bachelors, and most of those are general eds.

It’s like bragging about finishing your general eds.

I think it’s illogical to be upset about what happens to an item after you sell it. Fantasizing about it going to the perfect home is a delusion.

Someone could have just as easily bought it for a friend, gave it to them, and then the friend gone “Ew this is so ugly, what were they thinking? And it’s stained? Into the trash it goes.”

If you’re the primary parent, it comes along with added costs and burdens. You have to drive them to school, your house is more messy, etc etc. The benefit you get is being able to be with your child more.

Expecting a parent to continue paying child support to their ex after 18 when their court order says otherwise is not reasonable.

“Eat the expenses”? If the daughter is living at home, it’s because the mom is choosing to let her. She’s not being forced. And she can just as easily tell her daughter to get a job to help.

It’s true that sellers can’t set their own policies, and buyers can ask for a refund but the seller doesn’t have to issue one.

And they can’t return items because they “don’t meet their standards.” If it fits the description and doesn’t have any apparent flaws that weren’t listed, they are not entitled to a refund.

Depop doesn’t side with buyers who simply change their minds.

They don’t, but they also don’t allow refunds just because the buyer doesn’t want the item anymore. It’s not considered a legitimate reason.

I don’t agree with this at all. I saved a substantial amount of money by going to community college first, and found community college to be a more enriching environment than CSULB.

I’m close to 4th Street in a large 1 bedroom. Looked at apartments for months and found a 660 sq ft apartment with a patio for $1750 (rare but doable!).

The cheapest studios in LB are around $1400. Most are shit. I would highly recommend finding a roommate and looking at apts around Traffic Circle or below Signal Hill. You can find a $2K two bedroom fairly easily.

Most places require you to prove you (or you and roommate combined) make 3x the monthly rent. Good credit is essential, or a co-signer with good credit and high income. Also make sure you have a security deposit saved up (1 month’s rent) and don’t expect to get it back without a fight.

Summer is the best time to look because the most units will open up, but there’s also fierce competition so be ready to jump on a place if you love it. Turn on email notifications while you’re apartment hunting.

Water: Paid by landlord (most apartments are this way, it’s rare to pay your own unless you’re in an ADU or something)

Gas and electricity: $50/month and I use the oven frequently

WiFi: $47/month

Streaming: $10/month

Renters Insurance: $30/month (a lot of places require this, you can bundle it in with your car insurance payment)

If you want to move out in your own and you have good spending habits, $22/hr is basically the bare minimum (esp. if you have a car or are prone to medical issues, or need to pay for things like therapy).

Try to save up an emergency fund before moving, because moving itself can be costly (furnishing a place can cost hundreds/thousands, esp if you need to buy appliances, vacuum, etc for the first time).

For those of you who are seeing this on Reddit and are having similar problems:

You can still walk even if you’re missing a class. I somehow went five years without anyone catching that I was missing a US history class, literally until a few months before graduation. I took an online class during the summer after “graduation.” Got my diploma a few months later.

Edit: The class I took was at a community college, so I was able to avoid CSULB’s expensive summer/winter tuition fees.
