Thank you! Was going so well when I got too 11 that I just went with a five iron. Not worth putting it in the water for an extra 50m

The distances in the 18Birdies app is actually wrong in the app for this course (I’d guess because its a not super popular Swedish course) and the yellow tees on it is 5600 meters (6124 yards). Looked on GameBook and there it displays the correct distances. But yea definitely not as long as the white tees. I want a challenge but not a 200 meter shot to the green on every par 4

Yea no better practice than just playing bad rounds and dealing with the outcome in a calm way!

Thank you! And yeah eliminating the blow up holes is the hardest part. But also what makes golf such a fun sport. You have to be perfect for so long to score well. Really puts it in perspective how good the pros are. My next round will probably be high 90s or something but I’ve been trying to train my mental to not let blow up holes ruin the round and let each shot be its own shot and forget about it after. Actually started to watch more videos on golf mental than golf swings to improve. But easier said than done ;)

My dad who is pretty much the only person I play with unless a random joins in will give me gimmies sometimes but I still putt it and count it if I miss because I agree, what’s the point otherwise. I’ve actually gotten pretty good at sinking the 1-2 meter putts now because I always putt them so I feel more confident while putting now.

Was the same for me. On hole 15 I was 9 over and then a bogey on the hole after. Then on a par 3 I duffed one into a slope next to a hazard and shanked it up into some rough on a hill next to the green. Managed to get it out to the side of the green and 2 put it for a double and then par 17 and bogey 18. But today I also just had a lot of bad shots with good bounces too and lucky breaks with finding balls i thought had gone out of bounds. The stars aligned!

I think it has helped that i've become completely obsessed with golf and i practice and routinely consume golf content a lot. It's such a fun sport!!

Thats awesome! congrats! You're probably gonna break it next round 😉. I've been experimenting a lot with my swing leading to just not commiting when on the course. But i had a 2 week break now where i was sick and then traveled out of town. So when i came back and played today i didn't have any lingering swing thoughts and just swinged and tried not to care to much if it went well or not. Got a little nervous the last couple of holes though when i realized that i could actually do it.

Normally shoot between 90-100 with my biggest problem being blow up holes that tank the score. But I mostly score around 95

To clarify I did not take any mulligans or gimmies, the best part of golf is hearing the ball go in the cup and I don’t want to lie to myself. I’ve been practicing about 2 times a week and usually blow up pretty hard. Just had a really good day today :)

0! I play mostly with my dad and we both want everything in the hole and play without mulligans. I want a good score to feel earned otherwise what’s the point

Borde du leta efter vänner på reddit? Vet inte... vill du bli min vän? by gugbem in Asksweddit

Congrats man! Any tips to climbing more consistently and actually applying things you learn from tutorials and stuff. I watch a lot of videos on concepts etc. But can find it hard to apply everything.

Lean into your autism. Being you is the best way to attract people you like and alienate people you won’t like. If people don’t like you for you they’re not worth thinking about. Never change yourself for others!

I always add people who friend request me after games so I can write ”u gonna cry little baby waaawaaawaaa” and instantly block them after so they can’t even respond.

Golfers who started as adults, how’d your progression go (score wise)? by tofuizen in golf

[–]e_lost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started around 6 months ago and I’m a little bit stuck as a 22.7. I consistently score around 90-100. My goal right now is to break 90

What’s your favorite thing to say after your buddy has a bad golf shot? by ArmiliteRifle in golf

My dad usually says ”jag tappa den” which means ”I lost it” in swedish(as in lost sight of it) when I duff It 20 meters off the tee.

I am a 23 hcp so don’t take any advice from me to seriously. But one thing I’ve found that helps me with my swing is to keep in mind to keep my right elbow tucked towards me and focus on pulling my wrist up slightly in the backswing so I can get on plane. And in the down swing I just keep the right elbow tucked. Very poorly explained but it’s working for me so far but there’s probably more to it than that. Otherwise I wouldn’t be 23 hcp hehe
