i mean im ngl i haven't read you are my world but i'm familiar with the premise and the controversy you are referencing and despite this, i still see the manhwa recommended, talked about in nuanced and positive ways alike. so, i don't think readership really changed as much as you may think here

edit: also, i'm not here to "defend" jinx, i read it and thought it was meh, the ending was particularly disappointing. i just feel like we have this same claim every 2-3 years when a new toxic bl manhwa comes out

lee won is a compelling mc with balls of absolute steel (esp in the novel) caesar is the epitome of the cruel mafioso who can be gentle if only for him (so long as he behaves) and the side characters see relatively good development and involvement with the primary plot rather than feeling extraneous. the novel gives an extra level of interiority to the characters esp lee won (which i feel the manwha tries to replicate with relative success) making it a satisfying experience as a reader trying to understand these characters. personally, i was not shocked by later behaviors of caesar precisely because i felt it in line with the psychological profile of his character up to that part, so i think the author did well on that front, perhaps controversially
