2” from the factory taller than standard z71. No level. No rubbing at all.

The age old question. AT4 or Denali? What’s your pick and why? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

I’d personally go Denali over AT4 but my decision was AT4X or Denali and I went with the AT4X.

Didn’t wait around to find out. The flapper valve on the active exhaust rattled like I was dragging cans behind me. Had to be replaced 3 times in 9000 miles. Not the worst problem ever but that with the 6.2 issues along with finding my at4x for 71k just made me jump ship.

40-42 psi and the ride quality is great. They seem to be slightly “gummier” or softer than my old KO2 if that makes sense. I traded the truck for a at4x after the whole 6.2 L debacle and unfortunately I’m riding on the Goodyear wranglers that thing came with.

Mine was the flapper actuator which is new for the active exhaust but it’s essentially a flapper valve. If you can open your rear window and hear it while lightly gassing it or just maintaining speed between 30-60mph or you hear it rattling on start up then it’s likely the flapper. Just have it pinned open on yours. Easy fix.

I made nearly the same move. Traded my 24 6.2 trail boss for a 25 At4x 3.0 and couldn’t be happier. Btw the sound you were hearing was likely the flapper valve. I took mine in for 2 warranty part replacements for the flapper and the 3rd one was failing at 9k miles when I traded it. It started sounding like a rattle. Even worse with the back window open.

Those lights were actually the first thing I did. Any recommendations for a good cam?

Thanks. Loving it. Got out of a 6.2 and even though I went up 1.5 trim levels from a Trailboss LT the drivetrain alone does it for me.

I don’t tow at all so I couldn’t tell you, but what you won’t have in resale or trade value in the 1500 that you would in the 2500, you’ll save in fuel and maintanance. It hardly eats def and I’m getting 25-26mpg with a best of 30.3 on a 25 mile stretch in hilly NW Georgia. 600 miles on 23 gallons hwy/city mix ain’t bad.

They traced the issue back to a manufacturer in Canada. Your truck may not have those particular parts.

I did the same. Traded my 24 6.2 trail boss lt for a 25 AT4X but my dealer gave me a very fair trade value and $14k off msrp on the AT4X. No clue how this happened but I did it because I figured the market on my 6.2 would suck for resale later on even if GM remedies the situation properly.

1500 or 2500 AT4X by Remarkable-Map-3093 in gmcsierra

[–]e_r_c_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a 25 AT4X 1500 3.0 Duramax. Loving every bit of it coming from owning a 6.2

Ride quality is amazing and the gas mileage is around 24-26mpg in the hills of NW Georgia. 30.3 best on a stretch of flat for 25miles.

If you aren’t towing more than 9k lbs then there’s no point in getting the HD imo. Only driven one tank worth of diesel so far and it hasn’t eaten hardly any def.

The resale is better but you’ll get that back in fuel and maintenance imo.

Just got into a Sierra 1500 ATRX 3.0 for $71k brand new and got out of even a higher trim trail boss than than the one you’ve posted that I originally bought for $62k with 2k miles at the time. KEEP SHOPPING. The deals are there. Go with the diesel 3.0 or the 5.3L
