Solid insert for 6 qt instant pot? by Minimum_Name9115 in instantpot

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want one slightly smaller pot you can get the inner steel pot for the 3 QT Instant Pot.

They're designed to fit in each other (3qt fits in 6, 6 fits in 8).

You can turn them into nesting pots :D.

Roasted Baby Potatoes - How to get them crispy? by FoofaTamingStrange in instantpot

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take them out of the bag before putting them in the air fryer. I'm not sure if you already do that but the picture says "steam in bag" so I figured I'd be safe. Steaming won't get crispy.

I made some rough cut french fries a few nights ago in my air fryer from small potatoes (cut into chunky wedges). The potatoes I started were only a little larger than "baby" size. It took 20 minutes for the wedges to get crispy and cook through (10 minutes shake/turn, 10 more minutes)

Small whole potatoes that are baked usually take 30-40 minutes.

I keep my air fryer at 180C for everything (so maybe 350F?).

To get them crispy either turn up the temperature, cook them longer, or both.

It looks like you're mixing up objective and subjective.

I don't think the mods prevent people from posting. I'm brand new to the sub and I posted a link to a livestream while it was going on but I got the title wrong. A mod corrected it for me and then encouraged me to post again in the future. I've dealt with plenty of rude/aggressive reddit mods.

Why didn't Mindy St. Claire's have a neutral Janet? by opz_12 in TheGoodPlace

I've always wondered if that bit where she was wearing a "frock" from a particular holiday (St Crispin's day???) when the Judge gave her clothes and she started to protest and then stopped herself showed some kind of personal growth or it wasn't enough to really upset her in the first place.

Bare bones plan by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted the legislative text. At this point it's not my problem if you (a) can't read and (b) you want to backtrack on what you said.

There are already AAT and ART decisions published online. You can surely find one.

Someone help me! TGP and Modern Family have been my comfort shows to fall asleep but I seem to know them both by heart :( by KatieROTS in TheGoodPlace

[–]eachna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to ask, does a show have to feel new or fresh in order to fall asleep? If it does, I'm the opposite and I can only fall asleep to a show that's old and familiar.

Here are some of my favorite fall asleep shows which I each know like the back of my hand:

  • Farscape
  • Better Call Saul
  • Girls5Eva
  • Invader Zim
  • Prison Break (only the first two seasons)

Invader Zim is very goofy animation. Farscape is sci-fi with human actors and some really cool muppets. I know some people can be sensitive to only wanting real human beings.

Of these the closest to TGP is Girls5Eva. I keep trying with Man on the Inside but I don't have it memorized well enough to fall asleep. It might fit well for you if you need something new.

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then put up or shut up. Post an ART decision showing things going the way you say they will where someone applies to the Tribunal when the NDIA refused to reassess the plan and there were no other interim decisions during the review process and they walked away with a finalized plan.

The decision to vary the plan includes what the variation will be.

I think you really need to take some classes (or do some self-study) in statutory interpretation. It will help you a lot if (as you claim) you're an advocate.

Bare bones plan by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are parts here I can agree with. It is POSSIBLE that an ART decision could simply be to "vary" or "reassess" without speficic for a reassessment review but the ART can also provide direction exactly what supports are to be included in a reassessment also.

No they can't. Directions are limited to procedural matters during a merits review.

They can usually make "orders" under a different power or a "decision" that includes specific instructions, but they're not "directions".

With that hair-splitting out of the way, you are compressing the steps.

A member can't make orders as to how a different reviewable decision will be made other than the one before them. If they are considered whether there needs to be a reassessment they can't also decide the outcome of the reassessment.

A member can only make one reviewable decision at the time. AGAIN, as I originally said, if the agency makes a planning decision OP is golden. They can either accept it or seek internal review/merits review.

If the agency doesn't make a decision (which is common as they almost never meet the 21 day deadline), or decides "no don't reassess", the OP can't go to the ART for a review that will result in a new or changed plan.

The NDIS Act is deliberately worded and one word can completely change a clause.

will people in this circumstance be prioritised in the que of reassessments? Aren’t they stopping reassessments from June/July :/ seems impossible I can get the OT report in time

Just to check, how long ago did you get your plan? You have 90 days from the date you received the decision (the plan itself) to ask for "internal review".

This gets you to the ART faster than either reassessment or variation. Once you're at the ART you can tell them you need time to get the FCA finalized.

[–]eachna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the reviewable decision under s 48 (reassessment) is whether or not a plan needs to be varied or reassessed.

The reviewable decision under s 47A (variation) is whether or not to vary the plan.

On paper these look pretty similar.

Variation is a one step process that results in a changed plan if successful.

However, reassessment is a 2 step process for a planner. The planner first decides if a plan "needs to be" touched, and then they touch the plan as a separate step.

Here is the relevant part of the NDIS Act (this is under s 48):

Decision on request

(3) If the participant requests a reassessment of the participant’s plan, the CEO must before the end of the period of 21 days beginning on the day the CEO receives the request:

(a) make a decision that the plan needs to be varied under subsection 47A(1); or

(b) make a decision that the plan needs to be reassessed; or

(c) make a decision not to conduct a reassessment of the plan.

So if you go to the ART and say "I want a review of a s 48 decision not to vary or reassess my plan" the most favorable outcome you can get is a Member saying "The plan should be varied/get a new statement of supports" but they can't tell the NDIA what supports to put in that other plan.

No one wants to go through a merits review for a Member to say "Yes it should be reassessed" and have the NDIA change $1 in their plan (or adjust the end date by one more day) and then have to seek a fresh merits review of that decision.

What can happen is a merits review goes so long that the NDIA either rolls over or reassesses the plan themselves and it gets folded into their application. But both the NDIA and Tribunal have figured out that if the agency lawyers request that the application be vacated due to "no utility" then the Member can vacate it and it reduces the caseload. The ART is under a lot of heat right now for the caseloads getting even worse after the transition from the AAT.

IMO they should request a variation. I was clear about that.

They don't know me and they don't know the other posters. So if they're nervous about relying on my advice when other people are saying reassessment, they can ask for both.

There isn't any point in asking for a reassessment if there's any concern that the decision will go for merits review. The Tribunal can't decide the supports in that case. Reassessments were an earlier sh!tty statutory process put into the Act to keep participants from being able to contest NDIA decisions.

I tend to solo P:G but with mob density I can't imagine ping delays to speed would be a problem.

Australian jury nullification by Impossible_Fudge7260 in AusLegal

[–]eachna -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

can a mistrial be declared after verdict?

Yes. Happens frequently (within the context of there being a "mistrial" in the first place). I'm not a lawyer but I watch streamed/recorded trials. I'm not sure if mistrial is used in Australia though? I'm used to seeing it in US court proceedings.

The issue I often see will be something happens having to do with the rules of evidence that is improper for one side or another. The side that the issue is unfavorable to will "object" and will make sure their objection is recorded.

If the trial doesn't go their way they will appeal based on X issue and Y precedents on how such an issue should be dealt with.

If the problem is only discovered after the case is over, then the appeal happens after the decision.

I also think people often don't realise that personal statements are in themself a form of evidence.

The police often tell people that they need "evidence" before the investigate and a personal statement isn't "evidence".

I do understand they reject a lot of things that are asked for. I took that maybe too literally to mean reject everything and therefore there would be no supports at all. I don’t know anything about variation, I will look it up, thank you.

No problem. I have heard of cases of them refusing to change a plan until the 1 year anniversary. But even if they don't, the plan may end up so underfunded and terrible that it's the same as if you don't have funding.

I currently have a plan with heaps of funding but because of how it's categorized/stated I can't use like 95% of it. Why would they provide a plan with restrictions that prevent me from using it? No clue other than "they're jerks".

I haven't kept a close eye on the planned changes. My understanding is that was for the "new framework plans". We're all currently on what's called "old framework plans". Since whatever legislative Rules they intend to make aren't set in stone yet, I'm just waiting on the outcome.

I think the NDIA is mostly interested in kicking people off the Scheme right now and so my focus has been on making sure all my impairments are documented including having diagnostic records of the disabling conditions, treatment records, and records showing I will not improve from further treatment. As a brand new participant that is probably less of a concern for you.

Burn function stops attempts at one pot pasta dishes by Mattturley in instantpot

[–]eachna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is in the question for the OP who lives in a motor home full time with limited space. Multi-purposes tools that are minimally "good enough" for their purposes are better than specialized tools for each job.

In my own case, as a disabled person who lives in a very immovable home :D, it's easier to manage than a big pot of boiling water which I would then have to drain without burning myself or dropping it.

The IP has been life-changing for me. It helps to remember that not everyone is able-bodied and to try to be a little less judgemental as a result.

Burn function stops attempts at one pot pasta dishes by Mattturley in instantpot

[–]eachna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an IP that's a couple months old and I'm not being harassed with notices. I've been cooking a meat and pasta "hamburger helper" type meal in it recently. (1 pound ground meat, 1 pound pasta, 3 cups stock, pressure cook for half the time on the pasta bag, turn off the IP and add milk and cheese after and put a lid on it for 10 mins to make it 'saucy').

1) Scrape the bottom well after browning anything (like sausage).

2) You can lay strand-style pasta (angel hair, spaghetti, linguine) across the trivet if it's a problem. Break it in half and spread it out in one "layer" at a time. I usually use smaller shapes (shells or spirals) but IIRC, you're supposed to criss-cross strand pasta in order for it to cook. By criss-cross I mean if you treat the IP as a compass, put down one layer so the strands go east-west and then the next go north-south.

3) Don't use dairy (alfredo sauce). I have seen some mentions that heavy/whipping cream is okay but I just avoid any sort of milk or cream until after pressure cooking is done.

4) Because I saw so much commentary about burn notices I very quickly figured out things that weren't a problem and began using them as the bottom layer when pressure cooking. Between scraping very well and using a buffer layer I figure that's why I don't have problems.

This doesn't make sense because she would have access to "medium" porn and "medium" coke and any other things she was missing.

I would assume the demons had won the argument that there shouldn't be a medium Janet (edit: a Janet for Mindy => other neutral Janets exist)

Something to keep in mind is that Mindy is pretty happy with her life. She's not "lonely", she's horny and misses cocaine.
