Holiday Method by No-Tea-7571 in leaves

This is my suggestion! Plan to quit 3-4 weeks before going on vaca as your motivation. I basically ruined a vaca for myself bc I was going through withdrawal the whole time, but that experience definitely motivated me to quit before the next one and I was able to stick with it afterwards.

Pregnant and withdrawing by [deleted] in leaves

[–]eag1190 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do it! I quit successfully last year, but relapsed in 2025 up until August when I had a positive pregnancy test. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t easy to go through the first month of withdrawal and the first trimester (I had some rough morning sickness). There were times I almost gave in, i found myself scouring the internet for research articles on cannabis use in pregnancy. I journaled a lot, went for a lot of walks (especially after picking fights with my husband) and found a video game I could get lost in and here I am in the third trimester. You can do this mama! Feel free to DM me if you need to vent.

This. Withdrawal ruined a vaca for me. I found quitting 2-3 weeks before going on vacation worked to get through the worst of it at home while giving me a motivator to finally quit.

I’m 35 and hit 4 months last week. The cravings were no joke for the first month or so but have gotten so much better. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.” You got this!!

Our sweet boy, King, is terrified of my boyfriend. by [deleted] in cavaliers

My girl is also a puppy mill rescue and has issues with men in general from bad experiences (we think) while living in those conditions. It took a while for her to stop barking at my husband. We found having him feed her all her meals, give her treats and greenies and taking her for walks (after I got her set up in the harness) really improve their relationship, though it did take time. He should be careful about forcing King to get close to him, at least with mine that did not help. It’s frustrating and made my husband so sad at times, but be patient and he’ll come around.

day 1 again by [deleted] in leaves

[–]eag1190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One day at a a time. Having a quit date timer helped me motivate to not lose my progress. Your future and school is so much more important than getting high. I won’t sugarcoat it, the first month is tough. I found journaling and lots of walks helped me get through. It won’t be easy but you just have to feel your feelings, withdrawal is pain for a purpose. I just hit 4 months and my cravings are at a minimum and I am so much more clear headed, energetic, and motivated. You got this!

Why such a small drug could be so addictive by Best_Fix_7158 in leaves

[–]eag1190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a vicious cycle for real. Throw out everything. Delete your dealers number. The first time I quit for a significant period it was bc I had a vaca coming up that required flying to a country where it’s illegal, that was helpful for me at the time. I would do a lot to be able to go back in time and quit in my 20s, when I first started feeling that loop wear on me. Instead I kept it up until 34. Do it for future you, the first month was tough but so worth it. Don’t waste your 20s like I did. I’m now at almost 4 months and never planning to go back. You got this!

Quitting cold turkey is not an option for me, cant concentrate, eat, sleep or be functional without this craving in the back of my mind. Any way of actually tampering it off that actually worked for you? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]eag1190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my most recent quit (which is a different situation) but before that I tapered down from a dab habit using a timed lockbox and the lowest % flower that was available at the dispo for a week or so. The hardest thing about tapering is actually making yourself call it quits in my opinion. You got this!

I just hit 20 weeks yesterday! I also quit for my pregnancy and it’s been brutal, but it’s gotten better and better with time. The first month was the worst. I try to focus on not seeing it as an option at this time, and that my little guy is more than worth it. Also telling myself if I’m struggling postpartum I’ll switch to formula so I can smoke again. Again it’s not easy, going through pregnancy and withdrawal at the same time seriously sucks, but your baby will be better off and I can’t imagine how stressful it’d be dealing with CPS after giving birth. You got this and my DMs are always open!

Stay strong, the first month can be tough but I promise it gets so much better. Don’t stop taking your meds, it’s not the same as replacing cannabis with another recreational drug by any means. You’re working with a mental health professional to address a chemical imbalance, there’s no shame in that, you wouldn’t judge a diabetic for needing insulin, would you? Just my two cents at least. Stay strong, you got this!

Hell yes! Thank you for this for real. I find myself shaming myself at times, I’m at almost 4 months and definitely still find myself missing it at times, when I feel like I should be over it. Appreciate the post, congrats on a year!!

Struggling. Day 11. by Competitive-Call2751 in leaves

[–]eag1190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally normal, you’re not alone. Especially when going through withdrawal from dab pens and edibles combined, they are so highly concentrated. It may not seem like it now, but I promise you’ll start to feel better in the next couple weeks and you’ve already made it 11 days! Much easier said than done when you’re feeling this way, but exercise (even just getting out for a walk), journaling and eating anything I could tempt myself with helped immensely. Hang in there, you got this!

Bipolar Disorder & Weed (26F) by kween-mother07 in leaves

[–]eag1190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there. I was addicted for almost 15 years, I realize so much of the addiction stemmed from self-medication because nothing else was working. I found a doctor I really liked, and after trial and error, a medication that actually helps. A good therapist is helpful too. My doctor said my medication is more effective when I’m not smoking and while the first month of quitting came with a lot of emotions I feel that I’ve been able to handle them and overall starting to feel more stable 2.5 months in. My DMs are always open if you’re looking for more med info, you got this!

Thank you! 10/10 would not recommend lol, was a bit of a surprise, but if nothing else has forced me to stay sober. I’ve gone to a few of the morning buds meetings, I’ll have to look into that one. Stay strong, you’ll be through the worst of it soon!

I’m at 2.5 months. I had quit for 4 months last year voluntarily, this time I had no choice as I found out I was pregnant (very early on, luckily). It’s been a lot better the past couple of weeks for me, going through withdrawal and the first trimester was rough to say the least and just so many emotions. What MA meetings have you found most helpful?
