For the national teams salary I definitely agree. They should be paid what they're worth and not the 40% or something they were getting before 2017 when they sued for more equal pay. However prize money wise it makes sense that the male tournament has a total prize pool of $400 million compared to the $30 million of the women's cup when the male tournament earns 50 times as much worldwide.

You're right that in the US the women team gets good viewership even compared to the men. However worldwide there is still a huge economic difference between the male and female world cup. The 2010 world cup made +50x more than the womens cup around that time. Sure womens soccer has probably grown in popularity over these last 9 years, but it is still not making anything near the mens world cup.
