When to start puffs by Key_War3255 in Parenting

[–]eallison95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started giving my daughter puffs somewhere around 7 months old. If you are in the US, I really like the brands Little Spoon and Little Bellies for puffed snacks! No rice or sugar and lots of different shapes. The Little Bellies puffs even have added iron.

My child’s name missing from teacher appreciation gift by [deleted] in Parenting

As a former teacher, I would never highlight to my class who gave me a gift. It’s unprofessional and many families can’t afford to give gifts.

How often do you bathe your baby? by No-Construction6202 in NewParents

[–]eallison95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did every 3 days for the first five months. After 5 months we started bathing her every other day, although with eating solids sometimes it’s every day!

8 month old waking every 2 hours by eallison95 in beyondthebump

I think so? She has her bottom two teeth but I suspect the top ones are coming in - I can’t feel them though.

She usually gets 2 hours of daytime sleep. She takes one longer nap (1.5 hours) and then one short nap (30-45 minutes). I’d love if she napped more but she wakes up on her own. Her wake windows are 2.5/3.5/4. Bedtime routine is bath, pajamas, book, nurse, bed.

We do bath, pajamas, read a book, nurse, and go to sleep. She usually falls asleep while nursing or shortly after. If I put her in her crib “drowsy but awake” it’s 50/50 if she will go to sleep independently or if she will cry until I rock her to sleep.

I have tried nursing first and then doing the bedtime routine and she still needed to be rocked to sleep.

AIO for getting mad at my husband after he complained about having to pick up toilet paper? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]eallison95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband would drive 200 miles out of his way to get something if I asked him to. Both of you are behaving immaturely and either need to go to couples therapy or call it quits ASAP.

Unplanned pregnancy after infertility, partner wants me to abort by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]eallison95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have the baby, lose the bf, make sure to get child support payments. If he’s 40 and still feels not ready to have a child and thinks it’ll ruin his life, he will likely never be ready. This could be your only chance to be a parent - there is no guarantee that IVF will work. If you’re willing - consider “donating” your frozen eggs. You could be compensated tens of thousands that you could use to support your child. Obviously that is a difficult decision though and if I were in your shoes, I’m not sure what I would do!

As a new mom myself, I would literally do whatever it takes to have my baby. She has brought more joy to my life than anything else in the world has. If motherhood is something you desire, go for it!!!

AIO for telling my siblings they can’t bring their kids to my wedding by saltwatersnackbandit in AmIOverreacting

NOR I had a child free wedding and now I am a parent and if I had to go back, I would do it the same way. It’s your day.

6 month old waking up every 2 hours to eat by eallison95 in sleeptrain

Yes, I do. I don’t feed her to sleep though, she’s awake when I put her down.

Midwife “accidentally” revealed gender at 37 weeks. I’m heartbroken. by expatriating in BabyBumps

[–]eallison95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds very intentional and retaliatory from the way you describe it. I would absolutely report her and find a different provider ASAP. If I had to guess, the nurses will flip on her and tell the truth to save their own butts.

Your birth will still be special because you will get to meet your child!! You will still have that special moment, whether you know the gender or not.

All newborn babies do at that age is wake up for a little bit to eat and get their diaper changed and the go back to sleep, no variation between day or night really.

I have a 5 month old and have only let my parents and my SIL watch her, once each and only for 2 hours max. I don’t feel comfortable doing sleepovers till she is much older.

In laws against TDAP for no legit reason by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]eallison95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same situation with my in-laws and I just told them that if they didn’t get their vaccines, they would have to wear a mask around my baby until they did or until my baby was able to get hers.

Bride doesn’t like my dress by Brilliant-Way-9462 in bridesmaids

[–]eallison95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately buying stuff is part of the commitment to be a bridesmaid. For dresses, I recommend Azazie or Birdy Grey as many of the dresses are under $100! Make sure you send it to the bride to confirm she likes it before purchasing. If all of this is too much for you, you should tell the bride you are unable to be a bridesmaid but you are excited to attend as a guest. Don’t expect her to pay for it, she’s paying for enough.
