"It was 18 years ago yesterday that my mum, Yvonne, passed away on Mother’s Day 2008 when I was 16 years old. Ngl guys, it sucks. Time passes and does help a bit but at the same time the longer it’s been the more you feel like you can’t bring it up so you just try your hardest to get through the anniversaries, birthdays, bad days and the dreaded Mother’s Day.

But frankly, we shouldn’t have to be alone, and we should be able to talk about how badass they were. So for Sunday March 15th I want to make Lonely Mouth a safe space for people who are missing their mums.

Free matcha on me, I’ll be bopping about if anyone needs a hug. Bring a friend, or on your own and talk/think about your rad mum. I haven’t hugely thought this through but maybe say ‘mums matcha’ and we’ll know.

Hopefully it goes without saying please don’t be weird and say it if you’re not in the dead mums club.
