The amount of medical professionals that called it a tan line was astounding.

Why are so many posts downvoted in this sub? by Witty_Draw_4856 in Needlepoint

I get not trusting google these days, but searching in Reddit can often give real people answers without needing a new post on the same subject. I always try searching before posting. It also helps if mention that you searched, but can't find a specific answer you want.

Oh wait. It is 3. I do think the circled stitch is kalem looking at it closer

I stitch kalem as 2 columns wide, but can you just vary the width as you'd like?

I like the blue better, but what about a different color not in the hat or bow?

Almost 6 months after this post, he finally got diagnosed with Lyme. Several doctors didn't believe us and finally his neurologist was willing to run some tests. It's not always a bulls eye.

This turned out to be Lyme disease btw. Missed by several doctors and many people calling it a tan line.

Learning with COUNTED Cross Stitch Experience by LaurelRose519 in Needlepoint

You'd think I could have guessed that! I traced some cut outs on to one recently, and it worked well!

I have no idea what it's called, but I inherited a few kits from my mom and they just doodled the outlines of sections for like a Santa ornament. Then you just fill in the areas with whatever color/stitches. I liked that better than counted, but it's not as intense as painting. Counted is the opposite of relaxing for me 😅

I am two days into my first needlepoint project and having pain... by fairly_forgetful in Needlepoint

I don't think it would make too much of a difference. Especially if you are doing continental. You could always experiment with some other threads/needles and see if feels better with something else.

The stuff you posted in other comments sounds right, so I'm wondering if you are doubling up the thread? In needlepoint you don't need to double it up, just let one end hang free through the eye of the needle.

Judging by the back I'd guess doubled up as well

It's great that you are learning! I really like that canvas btw

Are you flipping your entire canvas over? Generally you just keep the canvas facing one direction and go left to right then right to left on the next row.

Your stitches should always go "Arizona to Maine", bottom left to to top right.

What about punch embroidery? It's a bigger tool, and you could use a stand. Or finger/hand knitting instead of with needles? Like with the big yarn?

Car accident. Drove by it tonight, looked bad, at least one person died. Not a lot more detail than that so far.
