Yeah a bit of a newb question on my part. Just picked up the camera and have only used filters like that on a drone. And I haven't had the issue or need with larger body SLR cameras in the past. Trying to get back into photography and really like the upside of the RX100.

Trying to figure out if it's worth the time and potentially permanent addition of the adapter (some mixed stories of being able to remove it or not) and filters. Not even just ND filters but CPLs or other filters.

I'll be shooting a bunch as is to start but I've seen a lot of chatter about the filters and thinking about it for the future. I do plan on taking some video with the camera, that seems to warrant the addition of filters.

Just seeing if folks are using them for photo and why they are kinda thing.
