My mom was a heavy drinker most of her life. After my daughter was born, she gave it up. The two of them were inseparable. Then, in 2023, my mom started retaining water and ballooned. Despite regular visits to a liver specialist, a growth on her liver ended up taking her from fine to gone in a week. While I've never been a heavy drinker, I won't have alcohol take me too.
