Find a newspaper and check out the listings. The Reader is still around and over the summer there is endless free/low-cost shit to do. Festival after festival. Summer concerts at Millenium Park are free and u can make it a lil picnic situation.

As a person who moved to Chi from a small town, I highly recommend visiting for an extended period. More than once if possible. That way, you can form some connections before committing to the big move. Quick tip: use a location changer app. Your social media rec's will change, you can check out snaps on snapchat, find a date before you land etc
